Yes, they will have printers. Flt plan formats already being tailored for them.


Will they be CPDLC equipped ? Why don't they use the AirTran system for the flight planning ? It's already set up for ETP's etc.

I believe so.

Air Tran uses Sabre for flight planning and while it is capable of Intl planning, it doesn't do it well. It's a very labor-intensive process to compute an Intl plan.

SWA's system is being replaced by a Jepp system since our current one can't handle Intl, ETOPS, or even multi-fleet. So, I'm sure the AT folks will be happy to dump Sabre.

Uh oh. You mean we can't just gas it up, get direct Honolulu and flirt with LT on the ACARS for 6 hours?

Not now you can't, except for ACARS Picture time with LT. ;). Yeah, the full system won't even be rolled out when we have to start table top exercises for ETOPS.
 
There should be an annual award for the most obnoxious poster on FI. Sort of like the Oscar Awards. Instead of a statue there should be like a gold toilet seat . Any other ideas?
