Kwick,

I think your NC is about to have an interesting meeting with SWAPA and SWA management...just saying! Welcome aboard and let's try to have a good time together!

D

I would have had around 25 senior to me when I retired, how many should I have now? What's fair?

Kwik says I'm not harmed; I showed how I am harmed. One of our negotiating committee's guidelines, that have the full support of SWA leadership, are that no SWA pilot is harmed. That's all I'm saying. Your position may move down on the list, but you'd be hard pressed to show me you've been harmed by this transaction.

Red, I hope that swapa has left no stone unturned in developing the process by which your pilot group would be merged now or in the future. What is sure is that an aquisition of AirTran Holdings inc. has occured. What remains to be seen is whether a merger of pilot groups or even a soc ever occurs.

It should be noted that SWA corporate has had far more to do with the enviable position that you all find yourselves in than any contribution that swapa or the pilots represented by them have made. We all hustle, we all are efficient, we all lend a hand where needed, we all work hard and support our brand. And yet only the swa pilots are recognized and supported and rewarded. I believe that there is no appreciable difference in attitude and effort amongst all of us. It is just the simple, undying devotion to putting employees first that has allowed SWA to enjoy the collective fruits of your labor.....make sure to put credit where credit is due.

Tru dat.

So you'll be harmed. This merger/buyout whathaveyou needs no stamp of approval from SWAPA or ALPA, your own CEO stated such in his conference call back in Sept. of year. Pain on both sides is direct evidence of an equitable integration. I'll post an except from your CEO's conference call to refresh your memory.

Integration of the two airlines will require fair and equitable integration of the seniority list as stated in Allegheny-Mohawk and negotiation of labor agreements applicable to the combined operation.

any contribution that swapa or the pilots represented by them have made.

Maybe I should just send in my SWAPA card and try to become a non-union Southwest employee after you put it like that. What were we thinking unionizing!

I may have him confused with another RAJ. I sure hope so.

You don't.

Yet another person who has nothing useful to input to the conversation added to my ignore list. I don't mind people who debate an aggressive position, it's when they just say "STAPLE, STAPLE" or "YOU'RE ALL GOING TO BE OUT OF A JOB", etc that is ridiculous and offensive and I have better things to do with my time.

Not exactly. While the MC has *MENTIONED* those ideas which SWAPA is using to guide their proposals, our MC hasn't said that *WE* are agreeing that those are the ONLY acceptable guidelines. That's why it's called "negotiations". If the MC agreed, we'd already have an SLI T.A.

I understand what your MC's guiding principles are, but there's a big difference in interpreting what "protecting the career value of SWA pilots" means.

Recognition is not agreement. As far as having few options... Possibly... the MC has said that it's not an easy job (in part because of SWAPA's stated goals), but I'm still optimistic. Next week should be interesting... although our group has a slightly different take on it than yours (big shocker) lol :)

I don't think you can actually call it negotiations when the trannies don't have any leverage, nor do you bring anything to the table. Southwest holds all the cards and you guys will be stuck with whatever they decide. What is your recourse? Walk away from negotiations? Southwest will say, fine!

Please read deeper in what you just posted. When you're light bulb comes on feel free to describe your vision.
