Dude

Their golden lottery was destroyed the day that SWA bought them

there is no way to merge these 2 seniority lists in a fair manor

ain't gonna happen

It should be and probably will be a staple. That's as fair as it gets. If I were a SWA pilot I wouldn't except anything but a staple.

AirTran was always a stepping stone, no matter what the trannies on here say. Most of us never even considered places like AirTran and Spirit. It pisses people off to say that, but it's a fact. Plenty of good guys at these places, but lousy place to work. That's why everybody tried to get on elsewhere.

Besides the AAI guys going to SW, what about the others?

AAI to DL
AAI to Fedex
AAI to UPS
AAI to Alaska
AAI to JetBlue
AAI to United, etc, etc..

When you add it all up, I would say it's a pretty significant number. There really is no way to argue that it's not.

The term 'significant attrition' was floated I guess.

And all of them did not go to WN, wonder why?

Yes, there is no question that some chose to make lateral moves (for the most part) that, in their opinion, would better their lot in life. Fortunately, most of us have had those opportunities made available to us should we have chosen.

For those of us that made the decision to make FL a "destination", it was a gamble that may or may not pay off. Should we be punished for that dedication? It would appear that would be welcomed into the WN culture if not into SWAPA.

Didn't pass the interview?

You took a chance at tranny, didn't work out. Don't let this opportunity of a lifetime pass you by.

That remains to be seen, won't know until 65 (or 70 if you guys push for that).

BTW, get over yourself, this is not a chance of a lifetime for any of us. This is merely an airline merger, not the first, and won't be the last.

Hey Luv,

This is merely an airline merger, not the first, and won't be the last.

Correction to your statement...
It's an acquisition with an eventual merger of AAI employees onto the SWA employee list...unless you wish for something different(?).

I moved up 130 numbers in ten years, the vast majority of those numbers were retirements, medicals or death. Hardly the exodus you guys are fantasizing about. Two went to SWA, one to Fedex, 2 to Emirates, one to Delta. Perhaps there were more, but it was very unusual, an oddity.

Once guys made captain here, there wasn't much of an incentive to start over. When growth slowed, some junior guys made the decision to go elsewhere, but plenty of pilots left SWA, as well. Lots of 'em. Don't expect an Arbitrator to be as impressed by anecdotes as some of you are.

We have well over 160 AT guys at SWA. That is 10%. I would hardly say they are few and far between.

Bake you post yet I never remember a work you type.

Bake for SWA FA hiring.

What? Lateral move, really? I mean seriously, you've got to be joking.

You tell me what's lateral, and what might be higher. I'd like to know where your baseline is. Feel free to use any and all carriers..

Ty,

Really...why do you care? Are you planning on eventually returning to the line? Maybe the powers that be will convince your NC, at the next scheduled meeting with SWA management attending, what's best for everybody and an arbitrated decision isn't in your best interest! Just saying Ty...

Lear, from the snapshot, swa continued to hire in 2008 several months longer than AT did. There are several hundred FOs at WN who would be placed junior to your bottom guy w/ straight DOH- the bottom FOs at AT were furloughed in '09- for how long?

Furloughs were 9/3/2008 and no 09. There were 169. First recalls in December 2008 and continued every month thereafter. I know, I was one of them.
