This is nice to see pilots helping pilots! Pegasus, I don't have any doubt you'll make it in with such a nice group!

All the best!

Whatever it takes oh winged one ....

Stay the course Pegasus - you know I got your back. I am confident we'll share an adult beverage April 7th.

Hey, here's an idea - what don't they just give you Sean Penn's citizenship - he's not using it very well :)

Congrats to you all. SWA is a great company.

Pegasus, I believe the 12,500 rule only requires you to be current in an aircraft over 12,500. If you could find a benovolant owner and flew three trips around the pattern part 91 in the right seat it would "qualify" you. What ever you have to do, do it. you have worked so hard to make aviation you career and now is not the time to roll over. If I had a DC-3 I'd let you fly it.

Best of luck.

You guys are awesome

Thanks for the support. It makes it so much easier to bear. I am following up on every point. Spoke to Chase last night and spoke with a good friend who flies the line. I am not giving up!
Since my last issue re securing any job to keep me able to swim in this pool I did have the good luck of getting a well paid consultancy job, so financially, things are not the issue. The only problem w/getting the necessary training is that any school now has to jump through these new regs just to let me use the sim. So I need a 45 day check to get current to avoid a 45 day check??? I will keep you all informed. Once again, thanks for the support. I just can't help thinking that I must have the worst timing in the world.

Peg..

Judging from the responce of LL i would be very surprised if you arnt in the April 7th class..

With two CPs and the SWA legal dept on your side you stand a pretty good chance of making it to class..SWA has in the past bent over backwards to work out issues like these and others..

In my limited view the worst that you cant expect is a one class delay..

Now having said all that..My 2 cents..

I know its been tough on you and others..Ive been there as well..

But the one thing that i can truly say about SWA is that they dont let their people down..You may not always like the outcome..But you can never fully understand just how far and hard they will work for one of their own until you see it for yourself..

So remember to believe in yourself and keep the faith..I dont want to hear anymore crap about being an Admin burden from you..!

Relax and let the good folks in The People Dept and the CPs office show you what SWA is all about..

Taking care of our own..

Mike

thanks to the poolies & others on FI.com

Spoke to Pegasus & other players. Things are working toward a resolution. I believe it will all work out. Thanks to everyone for their support of Pegasus on this. Tough times but your support is very impressive. I've been gone for awhile tending to personal business but find returning to a group of pilots who are willing to help others is truly unique in today's world. Keep it up & hope to see all the new folks after the 7th. I'll be back east on the 6th kicking up a my heels at a square dance but will return to see some smiling faces!!! Expect to see Pegasus there too!

It's easy to say that funding is not a problem, but sometimes it's a little harder to dredge up the cash on short notice.

As a JetBlue Captain, I also feel compelled to offer my support in any way to help you get current and into that class. If a collection is started, I'd be happy to contribute. We can't turn our backs on good people!

Cheers,

AKAAB
:p

A plan afoot

1st; you guys are amazing. I am constantly in awe of the support that this group has provided.
2nd: Things are looking up. Mark at Higher Power is working to get me available for the April 7th class. I never did my type rating with them, but they have taken me under their wing and have a plan to get me to Dallas. If I needed a type rating, I would not hesitate to use them now, simply because of the compassion and assistance they are providing. I cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond to help me. Likewise, LL and the PD gang at SWA are equally amazing. I feel truly part of the team, and if it wasn't for the British stiff upper lip, I'd be blubbing freely right now.

I have received loads of personal messages as well as the support on the thread and AKAAB's note really made me realise that this is 1 big family.

THANK YOU ALL

Tonight I have so much more hope for the future than last night.:)

Ok..

I think we can live with the "stiff upper lip" thing..Feel free to blubber away..Only please do it in a PM..

What i really want to know is how do you really feel about iced tea with sugar in it and grits with butter and cheddar cheese on top..

Just want to see how serious your are about the Ole US of A..Ill give ya a hint..If you say "whats a grit"..you is toast..

We aint got no bangers and mash over here..

Mike

Grits

My wife's Grandfather is 96, and one day, at an IHOP (marvellous institution!) he ordered grits for me, and BLOODY HELL!! they were good! Not as good as black pudding, but pretty tasty all the same. Iced tea just doesn't cut it I'm afraid. Big tea drinker.
Don't miss the fares of England (boiled cabbage and beef) but do miss the room temp, strong ales :D

IHOP!!!

If your ready for some serious eatin..Try smothered, coverd, and diced hashed browns at the Waffel House...Another fine dining establishment!!

As for the iced tea...Theres plenty of time for the "conversion"!!

You got any pull with that boy Tony Blair?

Mike

Oh..Almost forgot..

Smoothered= Smoothered with onions..
Covered=Covered with cheese..
Diced=Topped with diced pork product..AKA.. ham.

Congrats to TailStall, glad to hear that!

PEG, stay the course, I hope it works out for you, if you do get on with SouthWest, you owe all of the
people here a consulting fee, or a beer, & not that WARM BEER CRAP!!!!

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Call

Got the call too, Pegasus, you can sit between Army C-12 and me, so he won't be peekin' at my papers....

Congrats Lucky Dad

Keep the seat in class open for me!

Midnight Mike, you are the 1st person to use the word "if" instead of "when" I get to class. Even if I end up having to go the long route, the wording of the legislation is pretty clear; In most cases the Dept anticipates being able to authorize the commencement of training within a fraction of the 45 day notification period.." And since I've been cleared before, and the wording is set up to avoid terrorist threats that I am clearly not, I believe the word is when.
And it's not WARM beer, it's CELLAR TEMPERATURE beer, so you can taste it:D But I'll make yours an ice cold Bud Light.

PEG

I stand corrected sir!

WHEN YOU GET ON WITH SOUTHWEST!!!!!

Hallelujah!

Hey Folks,

Time to float this thread back to the top. Just got the call from LL asking me to attend the April 7th class. I'm currently #19 on our unofficial list. See you all in DAL. Take care.

ivauir's Tarot cards ...

Boys and girls kids of all ages come and hear the great ivauir's predications ...

link to prediction thread

BTW if you want to play the prediction game again, I think the 3 March class will get down to Sentry IP. This time I KNOW I'll win the NOPRIZE!

Of course the key to making correct predicitons is to make a lot of predictions ...

In any case - congrats big guy - see you in D. It looks like our list scored a 19 out of 20 for this class! That may be the record! I feel sorry for the slacker - I bet he doesn't know how to make a haiku!

The pool is draining
We are all bursting with joy
Peg must get to D

Um, maybe I don't know how either ;)

Pegasus Update

Hey Folks,

Here's the latest news from LL concerning Pegasus:

"[Pegasus] is coming to Dallas this weekend to do a few take-offs and landings in the sim- This will allow us to run an expedited check, so hopefully he will be one of your fellow class mates!"

I love it when a plan comes together. On another subject; my three-month vacation/terminal leave/unemployment is coming to an end. Although I enjoyed it, it's time to get to work. Where are those PASS Cards? Enjoy the weekend.
