I'm not worried at all, i'd much rather have ALPA representing me than NPA.
+1

I trust my MEC and MC, but I also verify, as should every pilot at BOTH airlines. Stay engaged, stay informed, and don't get yourself all worked up over rumor and ESPECIALLY FlightInfo. This site is here primarily for entertainment value, and sometimes actually has factual information... ;)

Fly safe, ya'll. :)

The same reason your members are worried. ALPA sucks and if ALPA is allowed to run free it will screw this deal up for both sides and nobody seems to trust you.

ALPA only offers resources and advice. It will be up to our MC to work out a deal with SWAPA to put to a membership vote. Our MC is comprised of AirTran line pilots.

Just won't happen. The three words you will be saying will be "pooped my pants."

Hey Johnsonrod you have been drinking the ALPA koolaid and should really cut back. If guys think you are going to get all the goodies that you already have been given and then get ahead of our guys you have another thing coming I can assure you. During the Frontier deal you guys were all saying you would gladly take a staple now you want us to take the staple, keep dreaming and ease up on the ALPA crack.

Sorry drunkard, but you are dreaming. And you bring up the Frontier deal. What? I wasn't a part of that, and even they told you to shove it. No, arbitrators will be involved this time, not GK saving your butts. That means sharing your seniority. Get used to it, and get sober before your next flight. And, pop in a breath mint Slider, you stink.....

Oh the maturity just amazes me every time you post. Do you read these things before you hit reply?

Maturity involves understanding and accepting the facts and reality, which is something neither you, nor most Southwest pilots can do. Eventual arbitration will NOT produce a staple job. There will be current Southwest pilots at the bottom of a combined list. Realize this, and move forward with life.

Brother I hope you get help soon or your lottery win will be a waste. I just wish I wasn't the guy who bought it for you. I feel like we created a monster. Or 1700.

Look sister, I don't work for AT. I am just a fan, waiting for the fireworks. And after the arbitrators are done, there will be some. YOU are not buying anything for the Airtran guys, Southwest is. You aren't losing anything but seniority, and that is up to the arbitrators. Get used to that fact.

BTW guys....A majority of Airtran guys, including myself, do not have a high repect for ALPA. Problem was that our in house union (NPA) was laughable. ALPA gave us some money and legal representation to fight our Frank Lorenzo management team and it did help us out. The merger is not between two ALPA carriers so the main responsibilty lies on the MC, which as Lear said are line pilots. I know, after the dust settles, SW and Airtran guys will realize that we are a very similar pilot group. I commute on DAL, UsAir, CA, and Airtran......the Airtran guys are, for the most part, a different breed. I imagine a pretty similar breed to SW. I'm not gonna speak for our other labor groups. Once again I'm looking forward to working with you guys.
