Well zman, I feel your pain,

Maybe they'll bring back the AT-37 and I can at least shoot some smoke rockets at something...........

Despite the Air Forces best efforts, this is actually making me less inclined to try to join any Guard or Reserve units.

Yeeee Haaaa!

It took forever, but Zulu is now holding separation orders! I start terminal leave next week and am officially out in July.
Good luck to those of you still in the fight -- never take "no" for an answer.

Good for you! May we all be so fortunate... soon. Do have an AFRes or ANG job lined up? Do you think it made a difference with your waiver success?

Yeah -- I have a job offer with the NY ANG. The original word out of ACC was "no," but I got the guard to reattack (the unit is significantly undermanned) and ACC changed their minds.

Congrats Zulu!

You deserve it! I know you must be thrilled.

Any firm plans yet on where you will be employed outside the ANG? Any joint would be better with you aboard.

I'm buying whiskey next time we cross paths....

Albie

Is this going to spread?

FL510GV,

I just read that AMC stop loss message you posted on the other thread. Is this for real? (excerpt from message)

"When SLW requests on operational personnel (to include: air traffic
> controllers, airfield managers, aviators, air transporters, command and
> control operators, etc.) are NOT hardships and are individuals considered
> excess to unit needs (field commanders/staff directors recommend waiver
> approval), these individuals MAY be used to fill other AMC operational
> requirements. This could mean a TDY tasking to wherever the mission
> requirement exists (gaining unit pays TDY costs)"

Sounds a little like blackmail or flat out threat. If this spreads to the other MAJCOMs, we are all in trouble. By the way, I am in AETC.

Can the JAG do anything?

Has anyone gone and talked to the JAG about any legal loophole to get out? I have seperation orders/pending stop loss, and I am just looking for anyway to escape.

The JAG works for the Wing/CC, so I am sure any loop holes will be covered. Likewise, Wing/CC takes his lead from NAF, if they have no clue, neither will anyone below their level.

Legal Loophole not likely

I gotta go with Aplus on this one. I don't think the JAG will be much help. If they are getting this confrontational over stop loss waivers, I think the only thing that is going to do any good is a call to the Distinguished Gentleman/Lady for your area. I haven't gotten to that point because I'm hesitant to highlight myself and I'm trying to keep a positive attitude. That msg from AMC didn't do much for my positive attitude. Any others out there considering a letter/phonecall and do you think it would do any good?
