Coming back from the Bahamas into Ft. Pierce this weekend I got a speed restriction in my 172..maintain 100 kts for spacing. HA! This was the first restriction that I have had. Anyone else ever had a speed restriction in a speed demon like a 172?

Yup. I was on an IFR flight plan returning to Orlando Exec from Boca Raton. I was being vectored to the final approach course and was instructed to stay below 90 kts - there was a slower airplane practicing approaches in front of me.

I've been told to keep 100 in a 152 with a Mesaba something or other behind me going into PIA on a 5-10ish mile straight in.

Slowed to 60kts in a 152 a few months ago for a cherokee on the runway...had an engine failure and trying to re-start before I got there....

Nothing like slow flight down final

I got "reduce to final approach speed" a few days ago coming behind another cessna.....citation.

I was in a descent being vectored for the approach into San Diego in a PA-28 going about 130 KIAS. I was told to reduce speed to 120 kts.

Going into Midway with a student...

"Archer XXX, maintain 210 kts"

My reply, "how about 120 kts?"

Controller, "Uuuhhh, approved, contact tower at..."
