You've already made quite a name for yourself at SWA.
Not possible. The ATN Merger Committee Chair is the former NPA IAEC Chair. If your rumor is true, there would be an article out on an AirTran pilot having a stroke at the NMB offices in DC todayI heard ALPA ran up another $2800 dinner bill....
PCL will fit in just fine at SWA, I think many FAT will be surprised at the vocal minority at SWA...
Probably. But it's unlikely that I'll ever find out. The only circumstance that would even make it a possibility that I would stick around is if the dispute arbitration results in AirTran pilots getting a bunch of guaranteed slots in Atlanta without having to bid against RSW pilots to get them. I have zero interest in ever commuting again, so unless I'm in ATL, I'm out. Even then, I would be dropping virtually all of my flying to focus on my business. But it would be nice to go out and fly an airliner on occasion. Despite the claims of people like waveflyer, I will miss the flying.
Funny, you never seemed to miss flying when you sat in the ALPA office.
The current Group B4 ALPA EVP and former MEC Vice Chair never sponged off our dues. He did a great job helping the AirTran pilots secure a new CBA with $40 million/yr in gains and a much improved reserve system (pilots in the top 100 now bid reserve if that tells you something).
While we disagree tremendously on SLI issues, I never saw him as a union slacker. There were individuals who milked the system as MEC and MEC Committee members, but he wasn't one of them.
I do agree though he should have found time to fly at least a 2 or 3 day trip once a month. Nothing helps union credibility more than pilots seeing their union officers in the trenches once and a while.
