DALLAS, Sept. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) announced today that the carrier is expanding its service plan for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport next year with two additional nonstop destinations, Las Vegas and Phoenix. "We are proud to showcase our robust route map connecting the Atlanta market to more than 50 Southwest cities."

To celebrate the exciting expansion of service, Southwest is offering fares as low as $109 one-way between Atlanta and both Phoenix and Las Vegas for travel every day except Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays March 10, 2012, through April 7, 2012 (see fare rules below). Is this in addition to the airtran flights that already go there or is it a replacement?

DL has a habit of crushing ATL competitors

Sounds good. We will have 300 flights a day to all the high cost/ load DAL cities. It will be a good deal for the consumer as DAL crushes SWA. I am sure first move is for DAL to ask for concessions. Hold ON
