I agree TOTALLY with the previous posts on these people. Not professional (lotsa trash talk about female pax & employees by pilots); wishy-washy managment; little to no over-sight by owner (most people never see him, from what I've been told by those who are unfortunate enough to work there!). AVOID - AVOID - AVOID!!! PAY SUCKS ALSO.

How do those points differ from any aviation company? FWIW there was a former CFI I worked with that went there and we was happy there. Quick upgrade and type - akin to the "regionals" if you want to move on to a good corporate gig quickly from what I understand. I haven't seen him post on here in a looooong time though.

SAS called me for an interview last August, however I was in ground school at another company. It was for the 604.

Don't go to southern air, it sucks. The planes sucks. They lie about the pay. I'd rather work at Taco Bell then fly captain on one of their jets. The management is a joke. There is no organization. They really have no idea of how to run a company, except for straight down. The feds hate them too. It is run by a bunch of low lives that can't seem to be able to get a job anywhere else!

My current co-pilot used to fly for them. He did not like it at all, QOL, pay, etc, all sucked. What really shocked me was that the entire time he was there, he never got to touch the controls of the aircraft as a FO, apparently they are there strictly to raise the gear.

WOW !

Got a call today (6:10 PM at the dinner table....nice touch) for a First Officer position. Pay starts in low 20s. Half way through the call he started asking me about the Lear 55 position I had. I have never flown a Lear in my life. He states the secretary must have screwed up. "So tell me about your background" The guy took the time to call me, but didn't even have my resume in front of him. Sounds like all the rumors are true about this place.

Yeah they don't really care unless you have a heart beat. And even then you will be over qualified compared to the guys in the management. I would recommend to stear clear. The juice ain't worth the squeeze.

PS, they tell you the pay start in the 20's but then they end up paying in the high teens. they lie about everything to make it look a lot better than it really is.

A while back I inquired about the CE-650 co-captain job they posted about a hundred times. Low 20's to start......not even close to industry average. They just posted on climbto350 AGAIN looking for copilots, and Beechjet and Hawker captains due to "rapid growth". From what I've seen and heard about this place, run away FAST.

One possiblity for the "rapid growth" is that they are low-balling their management fees and are able to do this because they are low-balling their pilot overhead. This is just speculation on my part.

This ultimately will cause an implosion.

Your dead on the money. They low ball their management fees. What they do is horrible maintenance, and then the plane has to stay in maintenance. They over charge on the maintenance and make up for the low management fee. And PS the pay is extremely low. Jet caps make in the low thirties to the mid thirties.

There reason for the rapid growth is not the acquisition of aircraft, its because they fire their pilots so fast. A buddy of mine just got fired, for no apparent reason. PS they like you to be the aircraft cleaner as well. Can you imagine a jet captain detailing the jet, ha, yeah right!

Shame on people working for low wages flying turbine equipment. I hope their safety officer is reading this, because this can be part of the "chain of events" for an accident.

When that happens, there is an exodus of customers and the house of cards falls down.

Caveat emptor!

I agree what a horrible place to work. There is no structure what so ever. the People that run that company can't even tie there shoes without help!!

So What You have all been saying is steer clear, forget about it, not worth the effort, and only go there prior to checking a 45 out of the armoury and putting it to your head. Is that about the jest of IT.

YES and if you have all those types dont even waste your time at sas unless you like making less than a burger king employee.

I hate to revive this thread, but I thought this was funny. I never thought I would see a guy on flightinfo.com pumping a company like a stock pumper. Then I saw this thread and realized that Flyn2fast4you is also the guy who just posted the job listing on bizjetjobs.com. I got a good laugh tonight, thanks!

p.s. If anyone doesnt know what I mean by "pumper" watch Mad Money on CNBC sometime. Kramer is the ultimate pumper. But he rocks! Everyone else on tv sucks! Kramer owns you all!! (I am a Kramer pumper.)

Yeah, this company is a joke! Went to interview there about 3 months back. They too called me about 8pm the night before. I had no idea about their reputation. I went and was interviewed by some adolesent 'Chief Pilot'. Looked about 16 year old. I couldn't take him seriously. Anyway, at the end he told me I was hired and that I should expect a few flights the next week then I can decide if it's the kind of place that suits me. Low and behold, about 3 months later, I'm still waiting (well not really) for this phone call. Not to bother him, I emailed him (he said, call/email me ANYTIME) about a few weeks after just to see if he'd forgotten about me. He sent me a rude email telling me never to bother them with emails about my status. What a bunch of amaturs. Shame on them. No surprises, still no call - but not waiting either - better things have come along.

RUNNNNNNN so far away, i have friends there, idiot owns it, faa is gunning for them,mini-me asst. chief pilot, just an all around S%&T company, i get calls every day from my buddies, who are loading the bullet into the chamber, trying to get out of there. i have friends who left and sas sued them for their training costs, so if you go there leave 2 weeks before your recurrent tng, or youll be locked into another year, thats the kinda stuff they pull there. you all make the call, if you go, dont come on here boohooing about the crap that goes on there.

Run! Don't Even Bother With These People

Just so everyone knows, the charater "FLYN2FAST4YOU" is one of their assistant chief pilots. He's a power-hungry youngster with the face of a newborn baby. Stay away from this company; don't even apply, or return their calls!!!! Don't say you haven't been warned!

Charter Bottom-feeder

Just read all of the posts on this thread.Sounds like another BOTTOM-FEEDER operation to me!!!!!!

In the coming pilot-shortage,outfits like this one will simply BLEED to DEATH,and then go away because they simply will not be able to hire competent ,qualified pilots!!!!

some of our less intelligent pilots with SJS are known to go across the runway in Tampa to work for SAS. 21k per year with no days off and no formalized training (its Part 91), sounds good to me! LOL
