So who's going to the ASA LEC meeting on Thursday?

Hope we see more movement later this month. Something tells me there will be something pivotal about this one. It will for sure show us a release is possible, or that it won't happen. We will see.

I hope you mean a change of course from management, but I know you don't. The feeling on this one that the NMB has "talked" with the company leading up to these two dates, and not the union, so the NMB is satisfied that ALPA has done our part. Maybe the NMB told the company if they don't offer a fair counter the NMB will release us. The NMB knows the company is stalling and are solely responsible for this not getting done. We'll certainly know more the first day if the company is serious about wrapping this up.

This too caught my attention. Very interesting concept and could be the stimulus for changing the RLA's bias for managements. New territory for sure.

They didnt state it as fact, they said based on the past and how they have been dealt with by the NMB in the previous talks with ALPA/NMB.

PS, they also said early in the meeting, that they had not put forth their last best/bottom line offer. So, we know for a fact that the CNC has room to move and is willing to under the right terms.

I'll tell you this, JR and CM of the CNC put back alot of confidence in me when I sat and listened to the way they explained why and how they have done things to this point. They have my support 100%

I'll tell you this too. I sure as he!! am glad they are in that room and not you based on hearing your comments at the meeting.

I agree. There are no quarantees. And I agree on the NMB board not being on not only our side, but no ones side. The NMB only wants this case closed out. And I don't think the MEC/CNC is assuming the NMB is on our side. However, the MEC/CNC has done everything asked of it by the NMB while the company has not. We'll certainly know what the company's intentions are the first day of these two days of negotiations.

I'm glad many of the the so-called silent majority showed up and asked some tough questions. I was shocked at the turnout. Usually everyone leaves after lunch is over but most stayed for the meeting this time.

ASSRJMan and Speedtape can say I'm a loser without credibility all they want... but many new faces at the meeting seemed to be asking the questions I've asked here. The level of disatisfaction with the present course was echoed many times. I've never seen that at an LEC meeting either. And the leadership seemed ready to listen.

Next meeting, I hope to see even more. You can count on it until this thing is done.

What concerns me the most is that everything hinges on scope right now. EVERYTHING! The answers I heard will not have good outcomes without good scope for the company.

Once labor costs at ASA become higher than SW and the airplane swap (200's for 700-900's) begins to occur, the only thing that will save our bacon is scope. The problem with scope is that companies seeming continue to find ways around it.

I was interested in the fact that many of the questions came from this board. While some guys will look down their noses at this, at the very least those who are here questioning the process, are involved with the process.
