It is "professionalism" to be an egomaniac?

No, but some of the more immature folks seem to think that being a "professional" makes you an "egomaniac". I have flown with more than one Captain at my airline that I was told to stay away from and had absolutely no problems. They just elected to run their cockpit like professionals and not like a frat house. Apparently that gave them a bad reputation for some reason.

With that being said, there are a few egotistical types in this business. I wouldn't consider that to be very professional either.

Sooooo....that's would it would be like if Napoleon Dynamite got his wings...

Was this guy with Emery? I used to commute on Emery when they did the Postal Hub thing from JFK to IND. Ran into the same crews all the time. This one FO had a bum leg (I mean used a crutch and all...). I was always praying that if we lost an engine, it would be on the captain's leg... Or at least on the opposite side from the FO's bum leg!

Oh well, the gloves put him in the dooshbag category but he would be a riot on a layover.TC

P.S.--You can be professional AND have fun. Being uptight is dangerous and degrades CRM.

The litmus test is simple:

Could you sleep in the back while this guy was flying?

Based on the video, I gotta say, "Maybe not..."

But I do think he's a stitch!
