Haha, that would be awsome to have him as a CFI!!!
DC8 is "him". :)

I don't find Caneman's site to be half as bad as that Brandon Coxton character.

Beat me to it. This guy is like the movie -- you either get it or you don't.

I got the movie ... I don't get this guy.

Right on DC8jetdog73. Keep it up. You should look up my sister in law in West Hollywood over there. Professional recording artist and photographer named Fontaine. AKA Sarah Fontaine on photography side.

Oh BTW for

Hey McJohn!

I had a nocturnal emission dreaming about your avatar last night.

Great stuff....! The guy kind of reminds me of Owen Wilson. You can't tell if he's being serious or bullsh#tting you.

It is good to see there are still some characters in aviation. You don't have to be boring to fly an airplane safely. I am surprised to see how offended some people got watching this movie.

That video was nothing compared to the antics that used to go on back in the good ol' days. A guy can't have fun anymore without being called out by a bunch of stiff-collared dorks. I'm going to blame it on Embry Riddle. LOL

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread or anything but with the airlines in bad shape, maybe it's time to learn something from catchoursmile.com like:

With TWA, United, and Western all flying the same four hundred mile corridor between San Francisco and Los Angeles, how had PSA, the comparatively small intrastate airline, garnered a 50 percent market share? They all had the same type of aircraft, and the same schedule, and by this point, the same fare structure. What accounted for PSA's unprecedented success?
In a word: stewardesses. Every airline in the country had female flight attendants, but PSA was known nationally for its sun-kissed beauties. Not only were they melt-your-heart pretty, agreed the flying public, they were also warm, intelligent, friendly and funny.

So, which airline comes closest to this standard today?

Hey Caneman, My wife and I both thought that your flying video was great. Its good to see that kind of stuff once and a while.

So I'm just sittin' here watchin' this video and stuff, and anyway I just can't get over the batting gloves.

And the fact that he's a 'successful' PW alum.

Wow, some people need to relax...

That was funny stuff!

It's nice to see that some people can still take their jobs seriously without taking themselve's too seriously.

Keep em coming Caneman!!

I'll definitely be listening to his radio show when I'm on LAX and LGB 36 hour layovers. That landing footage with the stabilizer horn going off definitely made me miss the Douglasaurus.
Looked like a good landing to me, but putting the gear out at a thousand feet is quite ballsy.

I think it's hi-larious. Just remember, the guy does professional stand-up comedy.
Anyway, would someone be kind enough to tell me what emery is? As in ex-emery that folks keep stating.

Don't forget Burlington Air Express (BAX) and the contract carriers of old. Rosenbaum has an ex cappy who sells videos of cockpit footage from the DC-8 that is pretty good. You can check his site out at: http://www.dc8.org/store/bertrand/videos.php

CaneMan the videos are great.......... "I got some striiiiipes and sh*t, I'm pretty much in chaaaaaarge of this thing" priceless:)

4fanman and my other fans on this baord.

Maybe you can tell the guys on this other board that you can be professional and still have a fun time. They need to Lighten UP....

http://forums.airlinepilotcentral.com/showthread.php?t=2528

Your concept of being professional and mine are a "little" different. You've had your 15 minutes of fame. Judging by the video, the next time we see you on ABC TV, John Nance may be opining in the background.

If only pilots could see the video, I'd have no problem with it. Unfortunately, he wants the world to view it. It does little to help the general public's perception of any of us.

John Nance? His head would 'splode if he saw this video.

Not sayin' this would be a bad thing.

Great video... wish there was more of it. Think it is your best one! Look at what is in the back of my "jeeeeeeeeeet".

YEP, I remember that day very well..Still trying to get the bugs out of my eyes and nose. That was a fun ride. Looks like an old DC8-40..wow those engines are state of the art.

YOU guys are all great here. Thanks for the guys who are sticking up for me. Like I said, Its just comedy. Can't a guy have some fun. Yes the video was taken by a jump seater, and for ALL YOU GODS that dont know a DC8, Well, there OLD Planes and stuff just goes off, like the Sink Rate, when you make a Short Field Landing. The runway in the video was 6000'. I guess guys in the B777 and A340's and Such Jets don't get to fly much, as they just push the buttons. Easy Money, But you lose the seat of your pants skills. Once a freight dog, alwasy a freight dog. WE dogs get it in BY HAND Flying when others can't. Like to 100 Overcast - RVR1800 or less in heavy jets, AND YES Hand Flying. These DC8 autopilots go out quit often, and dont always work as well as hand flying on the approaches.

Look at my Cessna Video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5726382945510200350

And My Rocket Video too. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4757040929562597768&q=CANEMAN
