That is funny...exactly what Maria said about 10 minutes ago.

Hey, we may come to town later this month or early next. Will let you know. MV wants to get together for dinner or something...

Cheers...

Are you the pillow biter or is it your boyfriend?

I left CAL in the Spring of 2007 after 1.5 years. Never worked as hard and never been burned out as much.

Honestly, it was hard to do (the Stockholm syndrome), but after I actually turned in my books and the badge I never felt better.

BTW they don't cash out your sick hours. I thought they will add it to my last check but no.. Should have taken my last month off with pay. The assist. CP said they had 15% turn over and said thanks for staying and "paying" off my type rating. I got only one, not all 3.

As I look back - 95% of my CAL memories are total disappointment.

All the best to every one!!! There is life after CAL!! :)

I honestly don't see this. I have been at CAL since Dec. 2005 and this is the best place I have ever worked (or not worked recently).

I can't imagine having it any better anywhere else. I have flow 1 day this year so far. How could I possibly complain about that.

What are you guys doing to work so much?? I really don't get it.

Why would I want to quit??? Where else are you going to go to work less? How can it be disappointing??

I am just amazed to think that we work for the same airline.

*this is not flamebait, this is the truth*

SFR:
I hope one day you get displaced to the 737.

CAL '"lets get rid of 147 pilots and then double duty the Reserves"

This place sucks...

Waiting for FedEx, UPS, SWA , Delta

That is fine, I would bid reserve and be 50% on that...

Or

Maybe I will just take an LOA and do some of my other deals....

Hmmm...win win to me...

Hired at CAL in the fall of 1998. Left the summer of 2004. Best move I ever did. I do not miss flying with scabs and all of the other disfunctional captains there. Not to mention the pos contract that yall are still under. Wait a minute what contract. What a joke of an airline. I will just leave it at that.

I left CAL after 6-months in 2007. It is rough working there. I have a lot of friends there, and I hope that the militant ex-XJT pilots can turn that place around.

I can honestly say I didn't know how bad it was until I left.

This SFR guy is a perfect example why it is so bad there.

To each his own. Every place you work at is going to have problems. You just try to work to improve your contract as much as you can while you are there. This is my 7th airline. I have worked at PanAm, USAirways, ATA to name a few. I have been very pleased here at CAL so far. Yes, there are areas that need to be addressed in this next contract and with all of the new people on the property, change will come. In the meantime, I will enjoy the time that I am spending here. I have no plans to leave and start over again. Been there, done that too many times already not always by choice. Again, too each his own. Find a place you like and make the most of it.
