really means nothing as they (schdg) do what they want anyway (esp since ASA-ALPA does nuthin'), but basically we're their bitches :pimp:

What does IROP mean, contractually, to the ASA side?

Mainly restricted Future Open Time swaps and rescheduled line holders may be kept at domicile airport for 5 hours vs normal 2 hours (reassignment window, say after last round-trip cancelled).

You can't do automated open time trades on skedplus? And is that 5 hours past original debrief time?

In IROP the company can create additional restricted days to prevent future open time swaps. While it is automated any trade involving a restricted day may be denied. Normally only 4 days can be designated restricted in a month (plus the major holidays). That's all moot though as transactions are routinely denied for coverage anyway.

The 2 hour (5 in IROP) reassignment window is all within the original trip hour period. If they don't find something in the reassignment window you are released until next assignment or placed on short call reserve for remainder of the original trip's duty period. You can't be held beyond the original trip's duty-out time.

sweet geezus... thats F'd up. I didnt know that. Who the hell negotiated that turd? 5 hours?

The same who negotiated the rest of the turd. Can you imagine being 60 years old and being held for five hours every week by an $8.99 scheduler?
