Is this by invite? Or is this a "road show" everyone come on down with your resume and let us tell you how great we are? Do they interview on the spot or do you just take a couple of writtens and hope they call you back for a formal interview and sim eval?

Last I heard they had resumes stacked to the celing I can't imagine they need to hit the road to recruit pilots.

Thanks.

Open invitation. Depending on how many are there, you'll take the written, do the HR and possibly the tech interview. SLC interviews will be scheduled at the open house. That's how the LA and SFO ones were done at least...

They really want to see the faces behind the resumes in the stack.

When I was in SLC 2 weeks ago they said they were having problems filling classes. I believe this was for the RJ. I also ran into an RJ check airman a while ago who said they are running classes through Dec 05.

1000 hrs. is the min's.

Good luck

What times are reasonably competitive? Would 1000/100 really cut it?

Will it cut it??

I am here in SLC training. I have seen and talked to a couple of the people they interview. Some of them do meet the bare bone minimums. I could be speculating, but if you meat the mins, I would study up as much as posible for the interview. Give them a good impression on your knowledge on regs, weather, and basic 121 rules.

It is a good time to join Skywest, the more we grow, the more QOL goes for us just starting, and those above our seniority numbers.

Hope this helps.

I went to the group interview at LAX last month. They said congratulations we all met the minimums, now lets take 50 question ATP, and the mechanical aptitude test. After the test was done they split the group into two, half of us stayed and the other half left. I was in the group that was dismissed. They said that the tests weren't graded, however we currently didn't qualify due to our lack of experience. I had 1800/180 going into the interview. A week later a co-worker of mine got an interview this last week without going to the group interview and he had 1400/200. So who knows?

I just had a guy observing in our jumpseat over the weekend. He had 4 months experience at a 121 carrier flying a Beech. Prior to that, he was instructing. He had 1300 total hours and was in the CRJ new hire class.

He said that most everyone in his class had either 121 or 135 experience.

Just remember to save up before you come to class. As of right now new hires are still not getting paid.

I went to the LAX group event and got hired for the CRJ class, I only had 1500 hrs and 180 multi with no turbine time at all only C-172 and PA-44 time. I was only a part time freelance CFI and got hired so I would recommend going to the group events. It will surely increase your odds and who knows you might get lucky like I did. Also you may get to take the writtens and tech/hr so be prepared just in case. I was shocked to get the invite and then get hired so give it a try it cant hurt. Plus it will be a short day if you get the invite to go back to SLC for the sim and crm scenario. Good Luck

Cool, Ive been waiting over 6 years for my QOL to go up. I guess it will now happen. I have almost started to enjoy 13 days off with 76 hours of pay and reduced rest overnites.

oh well, good luck to all of you, but spend as short amount of time as you can here.

Ditto

Except to add that your '76 hours of pay' included 360 hours away from base. QOL is an urban legend at OO.

Good Day

As much as I hate to admit it, its heading downhill. It would be one thing if we were losing money, I believe in sharing the pain. I also believe in sharing the wealth. I see little of that however.
