Technically, he's right. Prior to the 121 changeover, they were all flight followers. That doesn't mean that they did any less work, though.

Just because they weren't "required" doesn't mean there weren't any.
 
I'm so happy that Skywest and Expressjet were recognized again as regional of the year!

ASA had both 135 & 121 back in the day as the Dash 7s & BAC Jets (88 seats Jenny) had to be dispatched. Brasilias, Bandits & Shorts were all 135.
 
Oh, is that right? You might want to tell SkyWest's most senior dispatcher, 31.5 years of service, that he did an imaginary job back in 1986 then.

I don't recall getting the weather, fuel, notams, etc. from our "flight followers"...
