You have a good thing for yourselves at Skywest. However you hurt the profession by not having a union. Since you work for the top regional airline out there you should be trying to raise the bar not waiting for someone else to raise it and then let Jerry give you just enough to keep you almost happy.

Until you stick up for yourselves and take your rightful place in the industry occasionally you will be called names. Deal with it.

so we're the top regional (agreed!) and we need to raise the bar? seems like more of the others who aren't the top should try to be more like us.

You must be new here. This argument is older than the hills on these forums. I don't have anything new to add, except for that I am happy here, not almost happy.

deal with it.

so we're the top regional (agreed!)

Actually, you're not. ALPA's complete E & FA study including profit sharing, bonuses, etc... showed that the ExpressJet pilots are the highest paid in the regional industry.

I see. not what my friends tell me who are there, but who cares? I didn't claim it anyway, he did.

can you post the list from the study?

That's anecdotal evidence from a few people. This was a scientific study of the contract/employee handbook.
can you post the list from the study?

ALPA doesn't generally release their E & FA data publicly.

like I said, who cares? I like it here, they like it there, that's all that matters.

since 'they' don't release it but 'you' have seen it (have you?), why not post the list that shows them on top?

agreed, i like it here, i have many friends at express jet the only reason i didn't go there is watching the people they hired, (everyone with a pulse and 500hrs) i couldn't stand to be in the same room as some of these people let alone a tiny box, some wouldn't shut up, some NEVER spoke a word unless it came straight from the sop/fom, and a LOT of EJ guys that i talk to whine and bitch a LOT about it over there, but i have nothing against them, they were actually my second choice, i just happened to get on with SKYW and like it here.

I heard today SkyWest first year pilots are getting a $4 pay increase. Can anyone confirm this?

Are you a Skywest FO? If so, then you will find out soon enough. If not, than it doesn't really matter to you does it?

SkyWest not voting in ALPA does not automatically make it's pilot group non-union. ALPA is broken, they just want our 2%. Where were they when United lost their pensions? If there was ever a cause to bring ALPA brothers and sisters together from competing airlines for a worthy cause, that was it. This is just one example- not to mention the countless conflicts of interest between representing both regionals and majors. Half of you Pro-ALPA blowhards are preaching communism without even knowing it. SkyWest needs to follow something closer to Southwest's model.

You are right. If the Skywest pilots can pull their act together and get their own union that would be great. I give them a year before I start calling them the S word again.

By the way I was there for many years.

Um, yeah actually, it does. They have no union, by their choice, so that makes them non-union by definition. This isn't complicated. Try to keep up.
