Programs like Breast Cancer Awareness are simply brand image enhancers. Skywest and any corporation only care about the bottom line. Not about cancer or employees.

Here's the problem with Skywest and its employees: One of the idiots who works at headquarters posted on the company bulletin board that she will spend thousands more with the new plan, but "at least it will go towards my deductible."

What kind of stupid statement is that? With that kind of thinking, how does a group ever achieve anything?

I hope everyone who voted for Obama is happy!

This is what's coming!

More profit for Inc because now they don't have to pay for health care.

Then when we can't afford the new plan we go on the Obama plan.

Hope and Change is working very well. NOT!

From the IDIOTS in ASA communications department

1Q: Why is SkyWest, Inc. moving to only Consumer-Driven Health Plans (CDHP) in 2012?
1A: SkyWest, Inc. believes that Consumer-Driven Health Plans (CDHP) are the way of the future, and want to position ASA and SkyWest employees favorably for any changes coming as a result of health care insurance reform. A CDHP, coupled with appropriate wellness programs, will result in significant savings for many of our employees as well as for ASA. The majority of employees are unaware of the cost of certain medical procedures or hospital visits. Without the exposure in purchasing health care services, it is nearly impossible to be aware of these costs. With a CDHP, all of us are motivated to think about the overall costs of services obtained, and not just the premium paid for health coverage. SkyWest, Inc. and ASA support the idea of consumerism and wants employees to take control of the money they spend on their health care.

So let me get this straight....You want to force this plan on us so we become aware of health care costs? ie.. because WE WILL PAY FOR THEM NOW instead of the insurance company.

This memo looks like a high school senior wrote it. Thank God I will be motivated to think about costs now!!!! Great benefits!!

Incredible....Shiiieet...Now that I see what my wife's chemotherapy ran, I'll think twice before I get the cancer. Better yet, I should just avoid my fainting spells so I don't have to find out first hand.

This has nothing to do with Obama and everything with SkyWest, Inc. saving money off the back of their (non-union) employees.

The PPO should still be offered to the pilots unless we get a new contract by then...

"1. All Insurance benefits (e.g., life, dependent life, medical,
long-term disability, dental, loss of license, etc.) that are
presently offered to the pilots, or hereinafter made available
to Company employees, will continue to be offered
and will be made available on the same terms to the pilots.
If any improvements or additions in the current policies are
offered to other employee groups within the Company, the
same improvements or additions will be offered to the
pilots."]

Well, if our MEC TA'd the PBS so fast and unexpectedly, you can expect this will be addressed shortly.

Planning on starting a family? Better get-r-dun before the MEC joins forces with INC to get into your bedroom.

The PPO actually has a higher annual out of pocket than the HSA/High deduct. plan. Read the plans and crunch the numbers before you make up your mind. I have been happy with the HSA.

A rough rule of thumb is the HSA works if you don't go to the doctor much, or if you have lots of medical costs...It doesn't work as well for those who fall in the middle and have moderate health costs.
