Then again, MESA is up 11% so maybe MESA will announce next week that it has purchased ASA. DAL will then cancel it's SLC ccontract with SKYW and give all of that flying to MESA.

You got it wrong. MESA will make an offer but it will be for Delta not ASA. They just haven't told the General as yet.

The deal won't go through though. Instead DL and NW will merge (in Ch.11) and the General will become a 7-400 captain flying MSP-ANC twice a day . Duan Wrth will be his FO.

Song will change its name to Swan and fade away. The "new and improved" airline will be called Legacy Express.

The new Legacy Express will retire all the narrow body aircaft (including the RJ fleet(s)) and replace them with 10 Airbus 380's in high density configuration for medium and long range domestic service (this will finally compete successfully with JB). The former DL 76's and the NW 320's will replace all the RJ service on the short haul routes, establishing a new high of pax comfort in "regional" service by eliminating those useless RJs from the fleet (PCL and MSA will close). [This will cook the AirTrans and SWA geese]. The General will get a big bonus for helping the company to realize that big airplanes are cheaper and better than small airplanes on short routes.

This plan, coupled with more pay reductions and a new surge in furloughs, will reduce CASM, allow Legacy to compete effectively with JB, AirTran and SWA, and return Legacy to profitability.

CMR will be sold by DL for 10 cents on the dollar to raise cash for DL's merger costs, after which it will be acquired by Chit and stapled to the bottom of the MDA list. Pay will be reduced to MESA -20%, then ...

MESA will be forced out of the equation, but JO will recover by signing a code share agreement with Great Lakes. Together they will provide shuttle services to the new Trump casino in LAS and tours of the Grand Canyon.

SKYW will buy ASA, after which the Mormons will be converted to Southern Baptists in the service of United. A new industry leading "flow up" plan to UAL will provide career advancement to the good mainline jobs beginning in 2020 when UAL emerges from Chapter 11.

The future is bright!

RIF LOL LMAO

Now there is coffee stuck in the keyboard. A true study of the industry you are.

Forget Skywest. The have looked up ASA's skirt and decided they did not like what they saw. Perhaps Delta could spin ASA and Comair off to some private equity investors ( aka - lenders with a lot to lose ). The problem with finding outside investors is that no one wants to buy a company in decline unless they get it really, really, cheap.

The growth airframe - the E170 - has been placed at the Chatauqua / Republic / Mid Atlantic Company thingy. The E170 and its cousin the E190 are a growth market and certainly the Chatauqua / Republic / Mid Atlantic Company thingy will do well ( and attract investors ).

To sell ASA, or Comair, Delta has to make them sexy. You know a little wash job and a tire shine ( airplane order ). But nobody wants a bunch of 50 seaters coming up on major maintenance.

Welcome back - no hard feelings 'eh?

Nice try for a thread hijack. The street knows things and with most airline stocks down and Skywest up a buck and at times a buck and a quarter why is one company trading much higher than the industry. I guess we'll find out in the next month. (or maybe not) As for staples, I hear that more from ASA guys than Skywest guys. Based on previous aquisitions Skywest has always stapled. Ya'll don't have the balls or the solidarity to shut them down.
Regionals are bottom feeders.

Unfortunately, I think soupcan is correct.

ASA pilots are used and abused daily, but are still turning in record performence numbers. As a group, they must not be too upset at their treatment, or simply afraid to force reform.

What should we do, or what would you do, walk off the job today? Don't talk smack about something you know nothing about. And if you work for us than put up or shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that you would be amazed at the resolve of our pilot group. We have a great group. Skywest pilot's have nothing to talk about Mr I will fly a 747 for emb-120 pay! Management is holding out, well that is a two way street. SO ARE WE! We are not fighting for mediocre pay and benies like some other places have settled for!

Hey,
However it pans out, if SKYW purchases ASA and decides to operate as it as a seperate operation, watch out if they offer"preferential interviews" to ASA pilots. This is the big signal that the drawdown is coming, SKYW does not like to be the bad guy, parallel operations of the airlines, transferring assets slowly(so as not to cause panic), cherry picking from the pilot group(junior guys willing to jump certificates to gain senority. SKYW does not like to be confrontational and will avoid at all costs, the appearance, make no mistake if they want it to happen, it will and you will be left standing there wondering "WTF" how'd that happen? DAL has just neen slicing off as much as it can from its employee groups befor it enters BK, then it will slash and burn the rest of the contractual stuff like pensions and leases on a/c. with scope leading the way as targets. Wait and see, want a preview? UAL...

The only thing Skypest is trying to do is buy into the Delta network before they are left standing without a chair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With quality, mature captains like this, I'm sure SkyWest will be deeply moved and offer DOH to the ASA group.
p.s. our nickname is SkyWorst. please get it right next time.

My friend, I am an ASA pilot. I do "put up," in that I fly the contract, kick Crew Sched. in the balls whenever I get the chance, and make sure my aircraft is "safe."

I do my part, but sometimes It seems like I'm alone in this.

BTW, ASA is now officially CAT II certified, it seems many of our "brothers" saw fit to do all those practice approaches--you know, to help the company out.

I don't care who you are, that's funny.

Nice one Bluto.

I don't mean to be confrontational, but SkyWest already has over 1,000 departues per day under the "Delta Connection" banner. Or maybe I'm misreading your post.

You are correct, we set performance records everyday, we have the worst on time performance in the industry, the worst customer service, the ugliest flight attendants, and the dumbest schedulers and dispatchers. We are so performance orriented it is scary. If Skywest thinks they can staple, I'm sure we can really tweak the numbers. As far as being glad to have a job, yes I am gald to work for ASA, should it become anything else and start to cost me money and quality of life, what is the point of staying. But then again this is never going to happen so whats the point of discussing it. By the way, General Lee really pisses me off, just thought i'd through that out there.

Actually 480 daily departures for delta. The over 1000 daily departures includes their United express flights!

Have heard the company sent IPs out to fly and do the approaches. Don't know if this is true or not though.

Not true.

This is what the IP's in recurrent ground were saying. The only probs were that the CAT II forms were not being filled out exactly as the feds wanted. Now that the forms have been redone, we will be all set for CAT II.

I haven't done a single CAT II, but there must have been some busy little company bees out there.

Not gonna happen wey. I've a good mind to apply to Skywest just to get that week of seniority more than you after they staple your a$$. Don't even think about touching my gear handle wey, your just there to do my radios and adjust the A/C.

 It cracks me up at how much time we all spend on a subject that "WILL NEVER HAPPEN!" We all must be very board.....Or just trying to kill some airport appreciation time....!

It cracks me up that so many self-proclaimed experts are so willing to state categorically what "WILL NEVER HAPPEN", or what will happen, when they have absolutely no control over it. Whether it happens or not has nothing to do with the ASA pilots threatening to "burn this place down" or the SkyWest pilots insisting on a staple. It's all empty threats and rhetoric until something concrete (and decided well above our collective pay-grades) happens.

PBR has it right. SKYW, with one exception (SunAire), doesn't buy airlines. SKYW buys assets (West Air).

We'll see.....................

AF

Skywest buying assets is a play on words. At ASA we are often referred to as assets of Delta Air Lines. I think the deal is alive and well in some form, and keep in mind that both ASA and CMR are Delta assets.

OK...let's be a bit more clear. SKYW buys "equipment", and "interviews" people. So says SGU. Research what happened to the SKYW/West Air dealio.
