Yes, but do you enjoy flying in the Carribbean? How about doing that NDB into Beef Island? Do you have a good tan?

Bye Bye--General Lee

The flying down here is a blast, however living down here is another story. As I said, it is an all day commute to go home and spend time with the wife, not to mention I have to pay to fly on American to go home. I do this so I might be able to go to the jet in sept. in order to wait 7 more years to upgrade in a saab just to move on to a major. The only thing that is decent about this company is the pay. The effect that the flowbacks have greatly outways the pay. I am willing to forego the pay to move over to a company that has either stagnant or forward movement that is smaller and friendlier to its employees instead of staying here where all capt's that have been hired since '98 are going back to the right seat.

hey, wacko, I was not pissed, just had an opinion. why is everybody so sensitive. you post a message , you get a reply and then you are upset, need a tissue?

Wacko didn't sound pissed or defensive either, it was just an explanation of what he/she saw happening. If you read either post it said that. Besides your the one that sounds defensive and should probably hold onto the kleenex, make sure they don't have lotion, I hear it stings when you wipe your eyes.

oh boy, props are for boats, why are you guys crying like little g....

if you want honesty in this industry, you have to wait forever. how long did it take to pass the 328 type?

Isn't it time to change threads from Skyway/Delta deal not happening to SYX/DAL deal might happen?

Round trip (sju-oma) $80, which adds up when you go home 2-3 times a month on 1st yr FO pay. It is based on mileage. OMA to ORD is $7-$10. It's not too bad unless you have to travel on AA consistently to commute. It's B.S. when pilots from other companies don't have to pay, and we can fly on everyone else for free.

You still have to pay for the JS. There is also an extra charge for 1st class. We have to pay for our seats until we have 5 years with the company.

Sorry to hijack the thread with my b###chin' and moanin'

Back to the latest delta rumors.

I am still in Skyway's hiring pool from last August, however I have since taken a job at Eagle (ATR FO in SJU). I want to get out of Eagle due to the flowbacks and only being able to come home 3-4 days a month. I am thinking of going to Skyway regardless of pay cut and whether or not the delta deal goes through. I am just curious about the QOL at Skyway.

- are 1900 lines commutable? (live in OMA)
- how do they treat you guys? (I am nothing but another number out of 3000 pilots. CP and ACP look at me like f####ing their dog in front of them when I go into their office when I need to ask a legitimate question.)
- how long would it take to upgrade in the 1900 if deal doesn't go through? (it has to be better than a 7 year upgrade in the Saab)

I'll be anxiously waiting for the upcoming news.

Thanks

Have you done Dominica or Canuan yet? God, I miss those days. Especially on those early morning reports in Bangor, Portland, and JFK. Enjoy it down there while you can. Take your time, the great white north will be waitin' for ya.

Have you flown with the guy that commutes from Des Moines? He's cool as sh!t. Nobody on earth knows how to make more money and get displaced than he does. Everybody came to him for advice when they needed out of something. Even my IOE instructor down there said during IOE, We'll do it the way he says, he does this for a living. I learned from the best. You gotta be good to do that commute, I bet your commute is just as tough.

PS. Tell Kenny Chessney Hello if you run into him down there.

I started wading in the pool in Aug 04 as well but when the contract kept getting pushed back, I started looking for a floatation device before my arms gave out (I'm a terrible swimmer). That turned out to be XJet. The ride is good and I see no reason to leave. Just wanted to wish you all good luck. It looks like a really great company to work for and I hope it all works out for you.

Tschuss!

SMOE,
Thanks for the well wishes, if you ever overnight in my hometown KLCH go to Leonards Food Quarter's on HWY 171/14. The soul food will set you free and the prices are decent, HUGE proportions.

Take care
Jobear

Thanks Jobear, I will definitely give it a try.

So, It's March 2nd. Did Skyway have the meeting and was anything said about the Delta deal? Just wondering. I am one of the 20 on furlough. I hope this all works out for everyone.

All furloughed Skyway pilots have been recalled. New applications are being accepted. Competitive minimums are 1,000hrs total time, 100hrs multi-engine. On the internal net right now!

Good news

Maybe you should talk to HR before posting crap like that. No body has been recalled, and no body will until the deal is signed I'm sure. Good news though, just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance.

Good news

Donsa320, please fight the urge from posting after flying a stand up. Things might be cloudy and might sharpen up after a well deserved nap.

The Skyway intranet site has said that all furloughed pilots have been recalled from the date we were furloughed untill now. It is not true.

Freddy Boom Boom Butrell told his loyal soldiers in the crew room that the Dojets have been offered to Comair by mama Delta. These jets have nothing to do with the 35 from the LOA.

He said they are working with an engine company to see if they can get enough parts to keep them in the air. If they can, he said to expect to see some training going on very shortly.

Don't shoot the messenger...just repeating info.

OMFG,

That would be one of the all time greatest management coups EVER. I can already see the cincy enquirer headlines...

COMAIR PILOTS TAKE NEVER ENDING PAY FREEZE TO FINANCE GROWTH AIRCRAFT, THAT DELTA ALREADY OWNS!

I think Fred is arranging a static display over a Dornier at concourse C next week, where do I sign up. My goodness, its time for another Guinness!

The LOA (pay freeze for growth aircraft as you put it) has nothing to do with the Dojets..

That being said, why don't you try and come up with something witty that actually has meaning and truth.

I thought that was kind of witty. Ya see, delta owns the dorniers, they wouldn't be "growth", get it? Is there some sort of font that implies sarcasm? In my case, all words typed in black can be considered bs, sarcasm, completely unreliable etc...not even the freddy bit with the static display? Jes, I guess I just crack myself up, is this thing on?...Alright how bout this one, a bright eyed comair fo is charging through the c concourse so fast he can barely hear the rediculously loud pa's asking for volunteers from yet another oversold flight. He is led to believe he is about to preflight a brand spanking new e-170, he has a new emb sticker on his flight case. He can hardly punch in the code to unlock the door to the ramp, as he emerges from the walkway there she is...cue the music...a beautiful dornier 328 almost completely painted in dal colors and nearly every de'ice boot is the fancy silver kind! HA HA..ha...oh...never mind. By the way, it says here that guinness has only 125 calories.
