Take away the union/non union argument.

As someone who has worked for both sides of ops in both cmh and okatie, as well as most NJI pilots... Scheduling, dispatching, and long haul ops that okatie provides over cmh is second to none.

Its night and day and can't even be compared.

I thought that was you. Spy LOL

I think Dice-K has proven himself quite well.

Thanks for the support then Diesel, cause when I mentioned a few months back how much better scheduling is at NJI on the union message board, you said I was in a "Dreamland" or something like that. Nice to see you own up, why wont you do it on the union message board? Or post the bad parts of okatie on this one?

NJW, I'm not sure what the motivation may be to remain silent but I do know one thing: If (or apparently when) the pilot seniority list integration occurs, I can only hope that day-to-day control for the Gulfstream operation remains in Hilton Head. Some may complain that it is a duplication of fixed costs but, like it or not, utilization, efficiency, operational income, and most importantly, crew quality of life have been GREATLY improved since the NOC was established in Okatie. Union shop or not, I most certainly DO NOT want CMH running (ruining?) my working life again.

How hard will it be for a Hawker 400XP CA to transition to a G550 CA? Will he/she require a couple more sims?

I'd have to go back and see what part of scheduling we were talking about. I break scheduling up into two parts, ops and efficiency. People tend to hear stuff about one side or the other and in reality there is very little truth in what is being said by both sides.

I've got no problem speaking my mind.

Grump,

We're not sure what to believe just yet because we are getting the mushroom treatment. We don't have access to the actual language of the IBB, especially the scope section. We also haven't been provided with access to the VSL. So far, I'm going off bits and pieces I've obtained from several sources including a friend heavily involved in the process on your side of the house. Our management is remarkably silent but at least we can start ordering our new uniforms today......
Gutshot - sorry, I wasn't addressing you, but I can see how you thought I was. I was just quoting your question so NJW could see how she was not answering the question you asked. She still didn't get it.

Don't worry, you probably understand it as well as any of us since there really aren't any details given in the section on which to base an opinion.

UG, please note that Gutshot and I had no problems understanding one another. I commented on his observation and his response indicated satisfaction w/the exchange. What exactly did you find lacking? Please be specific as to what "question" I failed to answer in his opinion that you quoted:

Come on over and find out. I checked out on the thing so how hard could it be? :0 Then again, I've been driving Gulfstreams for 15 years....

UG, the penalties I referred to are those directly tied to the 85% of international flying clause. The TA is quite clear on the issue, not much reading between the lines is required in this section: 30.2(C)(1)(b) If the Company fails to meet the eighty-five percent (85%) threshold ... based on the annual calculation of International Revenue Movements, the Company shall pay a monetary penalty ...

There is a misunderstanding here. These penalties don't come into effect if the company fails to extend the contract past 2012. If the company fails to meet 85% or otherwise opts to not extend, then there are no penalties attached other than not being able to extend the duration.

These penalties come into effect if the company does meet the targets, opts to extend the contract duration, THEN fails to maintain the 85% in the following years.

Sounds like some RTS wriggle room to me....
