chq contract

To all you guys and gals who think our contract is a sell out. First of all we came from almost nothing to having a something that is great. We have great schedules (average 14-17 days off) no junior man, multiple days of holiday pay, always an end of the year bonus, commuter clause that actually works for us and is honored by the company and another great thing is your a Captain in a year. Oh yeah we signed our contract last october and it's up for renegotiation in about 2 years. Have you guys even read the contract? If not then get a copy then start throwing stones. Maybe our pay rates are not the best but guess what, Pay rates are only a fraction of the contract. Quality of life is good. Yeah, first year 170 rates are not great but there are not any first year captains. Use your brains people. Put the money where the pilots are. It's a common concept in figuring pay scales. So what if first year rates are 1 dollar an hour. All that counts is that the guy with 10 to 15 years of seniority that is flying the airplane is getting compensated fair. Every pilot group is different. You cannot compare us to ya'll. I wish we could, and I hope you guys get better than us. But it's always going to be like this until all the regionals get together and drop their current representation and somehow form an union that represents all of us together, for example a Regional Airline Pilots Association. That way we would not have to be bickering over who the sell out is. Good luck hope you guys get 85 per hour like you say you will. Don't be the next sell outs, but you will see it's not as easy as you think it is. You want to hear something just as ridiculous as us being sell outs then what about you guys doing major airline routes is an XR. Your selling out the majors. Yeah that is ridiculous sounding just like your libel about CHQ being the retarded child of Mr Franklin and his sister. Be careful, saying such things offend someone you socially deprived fool.

Wow, you know nothing about the history of airline Unions. There already was a RAPA. They had just about enough money to buy every pilot a whopper. Plus they had next to no leverage hence the merger with ALPA so the small airlines could get some. Remember, there is strength in numbers and divided we fall.

Frats,

Never claimed to know the history of airlines and I'm really only looking forward. Your right, divided we do fall that is why we need all the regionals to be on the same page because it's not working out among us. I do not understand your reply but it is kind of contradicting. I do not know if you realize this but CHQ and Mesa and Mesaba and Pinnacle have been in the past leveraged against either each other or another airline. Companies are getting smart. For example CHQ was threatened with Republic, Mesa with Freedom and from what I understand by talking to some Mesaba guys they where threatened with Pinnacle. I think it we be in our best interest to have some kind of unification among regional pilot groups. So you imply I'm an idiot for wanting to do what your remark stated in your response which was " Divided we fall". So which one is it and what is your solution smart guy. Major airlines are getting multiple code share partners so they use us against each other. Look at Delta , Northwest, United, American even US air. If they get unhappy with one they just drop them and transfer the flying over to the next regional. The only way I know how to stop this is have a common union among us or even some kind alliance between them. I know its a little more complicated than it sounds but it's worth a shot.

Price,
Mesaba was threatened by Big Sky when our Mesaba bought them and refused to integrate the lists. Our CEO is still hot that he can't use them as a way to shift flying away from us. But the good thing is that they loose a million bucks a quarter for all the Mesaba stock holders. What a great investment.

I had forgotten about big sky. Great example. I do not know the specifics but it's the same kind of thing that happened with us and the whole Republic thing. It's all about putting one pilot group aginst the next. Unfortunate.

On topic: I can't get the link to work either. Can anyone paste the picture in a post?

On the hijacked topic: if any CEO throws our (Mesa) contract in your face, tell them to pound sand. That POS is in place and we're still barely fudging a profit on the books. When we signed we were getting screwed by Freedom (a reality, not a threat) and even CC Air was being used against us. Kinda hard to compete when you have two "group" carriers undercutting you. Funny, though, Duane Woerth signed the thing. Perhaps you should ask him why.

Here's an idea. Next time you're in the hotel van, crew room, bar, or golf course with a Mesa pilot, ask about the 737s. Preach to them the importance of getting industry average or better for narrowbodies, because our MEC isn't saying anything about it.

Ditto: Link no workie workie.......

By the way, This thread has been a delight to read! You guys are soooo much fun this week.
