So, to just sit idle worrying yourself and ignoring the fact that your airline's subpar contrct has no bearing or effect on the rest of the industry is, at best, a retarded view of the labor industry. When regional airlines are making record profits (a must for contract improvement) and it's own labor sells themselves short for growth opportunities (which would've happened anyhow but at the expense of the investor not the employee) and to make Captain quickly at a sh1tty airline, you've sold your soul to the Devil and F'ed everybody else. Shame on you!!!
g159av8tor,
take an economics class dude. there are two forces at work here and SOMEBODY has to have the lowest. mgmt can argue that comair's contract hurts profits and is selling their investors short. weren't labor leaders throwing out comair + 5% as a mantra for awhile. you're just pissed off that the times have changed with the business cycle. besides with the investors shorted, people sell stock, company loses money, company furloughs pilots. swa is the perfect example where every intention/job task is asked to be looked at in terms of lowering costs and saving money. for year those "majors" laughed at them and called them "slaves", etc but whose laughing now?
with the growth being offered at some regionals, in terms of real dollars, people are making MORE money. i'm sure at Independence you will be asked initially at looking at keeping costs lower in everything you do.
oh all wise ACA/Indy Air pilot what should us lowly peons here at mesa do?
on a more serious note: are you guys changing the "blue ridge" call sign this summer? "Independence" does have much better ring to it.
