So, to just sit idle worrying yourself and ignoring the fact that your airline's subpar contrct has no bearing or effect on the rest of the industry is, at best, a retarded view of the labor industry. When regional airlines are making record profits (a must for contract improvement) and it's own labor sells themselves short for growth opportunities (which would've happened anyhow but at the expense of the investor not the employee) and to make Captain quickly at a sh1tty airline, you've sold your soul to the Devil and F'ed everybody else. Shame on you!!!

g159av8tor,

take an economics class dude. there are two forces at work here and SOMEBODY has to have the lowest. mgmt can argue that comair's contract hurts profits and is selling their investors short. weren't labor leaders throwing out comair + 5% as a mantra for awhile. you're just pissed off that the times have changed with the business cycle. besides with the investors shorted, people sell stock, company loses money, company furloughs pilots. swa is the perfect example where every intention/job task is asked to be looked at in terms of lowering costs and saving money. for year those "majors" laughed at them and called them "slaves", etc but whose laughing now?

with the growth being offered at some regionals, in terms of real dollars, people are making MORE money. i'm sure at Independence you will be asked initially at looking at keeping costs lower in everything you do.

oh all wise ACA/Indy Air pilot what should us lowly peons here at mesa do?

on a more serious note: are you guys changing the "blue ridge" call sign this summer? "Independence" does have much better ring to it.

Apparently we are changing the call sign. No idea what it will be though.

Don't worry, CHQ captains are all making $100+ a year.

Yep. Let's do the math...

Roughly 1/3 of the way through the year, a CHQ captain has 'allegedly' made over 50k.

So....

I guess He'll clear, *ahem*, $150k this year... Probably more!

Why oh why would anyone want to go to FedEx, then? Jeez, it would take YEARS to make CHQ money there! :D

.....mission accomplished! LOL

Good for you guys Republic! Don't let all the Sour Grapes get you down. It's nothing but jealousy and envy by a bunch of wanna be career FO's and CFI's. Lets see CoEx Walk the Walk and put their $$ where their mouth is. They will cave. The senior ones all bought their jobs anyway.

This statement defies logic in so many ways.

Why would anyone be jealous of a sub-par contract? Since when was a CFI in the right seat at a 121 carrier? I think that you are angry becuase all that you can afford is the left over sour grapes at the store on your $hitty pay.

Sincerely,

B. Franklin

Hey I.P., later this year you will see guys leaving FedEx to go to CHQ.

Sizzle,
If CHQ CA's are making 150 G's a year now. What pray tell are the FA's making??? 80?? maybe 100?? Please let me know because I do like CHQ and I bet all mainline people would try to get on there if you are correct.
Thanks in Advance..........

Ben Franklin....No sour grapes here. I don't even work for Republic or CHQ. My only point is there is so much bitterness towards certain regionals that are getting all the growth and I say more power to them!!! I'd rather be at one of the growing airlines as opposed to being stuck at Comair or Whisky or XJ or XJT as a Career FO.

I would hardly call three to fours years to jet captain a "career FO". And, I am living under a contract that is seven years old and I make about as much as a turbo-prop captain at the airlines with "growth". By and by, I would hardly call additional flying for airlines on the brink "growth". What happens if USAir goes TU?

Frats,

For sure, Lequip. Mesaba is chock full of career FO's. No end in sight, but we got a great big pay raise....2 bucks a year.

You're probably one of those losers that goes around saying things like, "THINGS WILL NEVER CHANGE", "I'D CROSS A PICKET LINE TO FLY 747'S FOR PAN AM!", "I AM ALWAYS GOING TO BE GAINFULLY EMPLOYED AS AN AIRLINE PILOT", "I WOULD GIVE MY LEFT NUT TO GET BIGGER AIRPLANES, I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY PAY ME!"

Please get a life and then explain to the group how one would not have the seniority during the course of a 25-35 year career at ANY of the above named companies to ever hold Captain; thus being the "career" F/O that you speak of.

Sincerely,

B. Franklin
