I was always partial to the title "Commodore," especially since you are managing a fleet.

Seriously, Aviation Manager is what I would suggest.

Aviation Manager is for someone whodoesn't even fly, or maybe has a private. Like a guy who started working the rampand now manages the ramp.Nothing wrong with that but just doesn't fit the description.

how about the commander in chief of atmospheric travel...? seriously probably dir. of flops is the best i guesss. Just a big title for a pilot who cleans planes too

i was hired to manage/fly 2 different jets... only guy here. my company wants to know what my title should be.
Do i say Pilot, Chief pilot, director of flight ops ... or ultimate bitch???

Weren't you the guy who just a couple of weeks ago was a low time copilot on a Lear? Now you're a department manager with two jets? That seems odd.

Ace

im not that low time.. well, high enough for the planes im flying

It might be a little late in coming but I do the same thing now (albeit on a much much smaller scale) and call myself Flight Manager.

I get a base salary with additional per-hour flight pay, overnight compensation ect ect. I did it this way for a couple reasons.

1.) Office duties and managment duties are the same year round.

2.) Flight pay is based entirely on usage. Why pay me "more" in base if im not flying much. The way I have it worked now is I have a reasonable base salary for office biatch and a reasonable hourly rate per BLOCK hour in the airplane. F- the hobbs :)

Here's an example of something I drew up about a year ago for a hunting buddy that just happens to own a many millions construction company and needed an airplane to take him 250 miles or less to all the jobsites. Kinda funny to be an early 20 something aviation consultant:nuts:
