I'd rather make more money and stuff it into a 401k and Roth IRA's, Flex Spending accounts, etc... and deal with the Obama tax "burden" then deal with a continuation of the last seven years with John "Airline pilots are not patriotic" McCain....

I am an ALPA member--and maybe you are too! I pay my dues, I try to attend the meetings, and I try to stay up with what is going on by talking to other pilots, my ALPA Reps, and even MGMT types.

My silence is due to my absence from time to time from this forum. I still have to work, maintain my side business, and romance my lady friend. And oh yeah--pay my taxes!

Lame cop out. I think he was asking if you're a rep, which should be obvious considering you always parrot the ALPA party line, just like your buddy rez-o-lution. As I told him, they must teach you guys this stuff in rep school:

1. Never admit ALPA is wrong.
2. Attack anyone who questions ALPA, using personal attacks if necessary, hoping to undermine their credibility.
3. Blame the membership and their lack of involvement for the problems you as a rep can't solve.

It's old. I'm a plain old ALPA member, and you ALPA cheerleaders blathering on message boards is embarrassing to all of us. You aren't doing us any favors "defending ALPA" in pigsties like this. Maybe you all should just give it a rest and find something else to preach about. For MOST us us, our life extends beyond work!!!

Why don't we get rid of ALPA, and get an in-house union? I would much rather pay my dues to people I know, and get better representation in the process. The issue with the 401-K was the last straw for me.

That is being tossed around by a few people here...including a former MEC member....

I have mixed emotions....I think the DFR lawsuit threat is powerful and we loose that if we leave ALPA....However I also think we could better represent our interests and we would have a better chance of a single list without ALPA....

PM if you want to help with the movement that is currently going on to either fire ALPA, or keep it in check....

Your law suit cost me alot more than the $7 a month that I may be paying in dues on my 401-K contributions. You make me proud to be an ALPA Cheerleader! At least each one of them shows up for more than one meeting in 2 years, in a position for which they were elected. Rah, Rah, Ray!

I don't put my trust in anybody....not you, not DW, not Prater, not Newie, not SH....Everyone has an agenda.....I do, you do, BH does, Jerry does, and ALPA does.....That's why I can't be a good union steward....it requires blind faith....I don't let anybody speak for me.....Unions don't like that....they want to speak for me....Only I speak for me.....Why do you let someone else speak for you?

The RJDC lawsuit was about fairly representing the regional groups....I will not support a union that I have to sue to fairly represent me.......I spent more than you have to pay......

ALPA is a joke when it comes to representation....You know it.....you have even admited that I may be right.....

I don't wear my ALPA pin....and I really don't care for the organization....You ALPA cheerleaders need to realize that there are many more like me....ALPA has a serious credibility issue.....and people like Rez make it worse.........

I don't mind paying dues if they are being used wisely, and in defense of the issues that are important to ASA pilots. I just feel that the national agenda and ASA's pilot's agenda are different, and we should consider other options.

We aren't stuck with ALPA now that we have them. They serve at our pleasure.

McCain doesn't like airline pilots or pilot unions. His own son flies for AA and they are not on speaking terms.

If you're an airline pilot and vote for McCain your medical certificate should be revoked for insanity.

This is one thing I have never liked about ALPA.....They hate it when you air dirty laundry in public...They even teach you in leadership training to avoid this....Guess who they used in the role playing skit on this when I went through leadership training....The USAir MEC....Anyone else see the irony there?

Texx...you yourself used to be involved in ALPA...but you had a falling out with the leadership....People don't go to the ALPA board because they are afraid of speaking out against ALPA...The can do it here without signing their name.....

I've been involved in ALPA before....and I believe the post....Let's not forget that the whole ASAP program was held hostage for politcal reasons for many years.....That came from a respected safety committee member...
