Saw on the FAA delays site saying PVD closed at 5:05 pm and not scheduled to open till 12am... What happened? True?

Whoops! Flightaware says AWI578 landed at 4:40. Guess that site is accurate +/- 30 minutes

FlightStats.com is usually more accurate as far as times are concerned. Pretty cool little website...not as easy as FlightAware...but it serves it's purpose if you mess around with it for a little while. Kinda like a good woman.

It was ZW3758.

I was in PVD today.

When I left it was just raining but you could feel that if the temp dropped just a bit it would be FZRA and sleet city. The roads/ramp/taxiways were like ice rinks even when the temp was above freezing.

Just wondering..

Is this the 3rd or 4th CRJ to have a problem this winter season. I know that 3 aircraft had problems about 2 weeks ago in the last big storm, but think only one was a landing incident.

Glad to hear no one got hurt.

Hang in there guys.

4th I believe... 2 Mesa and 1 Pinnacle a few weeks ago and now 1 Air Whiskey... My public school edumacation says that adds up to 4. However I believe that at least one of the first 3 was a plane that slid off of a taxiway instead of runway. I also thing Eagle and Expressjet might have each slid one off the pavement in the storm a few weeks ago...but I might be mistaken.

Looks like they might have missed a turn and slid sideways off the side of a taxiway...Easy enough to miss a turn at PVD. That place has one of the more screwed up taxiway patterns of all the places in the northeast.
