In the market for a new bag. Thinking about Purdy Neat Stealth. Anyone look at the "Strong Bag" startup? Those look similar to the Purdy Neat but about $100 less.

Or, there's Costco with its lifetime warranty.

Anyone know the max depth for the CRJ overhead bins?

I go for Costco, maybe not as durable as "Purdy Neat", but I'm a Freight Dog and my bags probably get more punishment in 2 months than an RJ or Mainliner gets in a year.

My bags have always held up well. And the biggest plus, if your on the road and your bag craps out, dump contents on hotel floor, take empty bag to Any Costco (with or with out receipt) and pick up a new one! And your on your way, Vs. Weeks for a "Purdy Neat" return. And for $85.00 how can you loose!

Cheers!

There is a company that started up about 5 years ago. Bags are similar to pretty neat bags. My undrestanding is this start-up is one of the ex owners of pretty neat. They had a falling out and split the other person started another company.

I've had my PNT for over three years and it's still going (very) strong. I like the idea of lifetime instant replacements, but I'd rather spend extra to avoid having to R&R the bag in the first place. That's just the opinion of this lazy b@stard.

The PurdyNeat is the way to go. Best piece of luggage I've ever owned. Well worth the price. However, one suggestion I'll make is to just get the regular 22" instead of the "computer" model ($20 extra). The computer pocket is kinda useless. Also, if you buy it from stopoverstore, they throw in a stabilizing strap for free.

I took my Costco bag back when the handle broke, and the chick there said I needed the original receipt, card it was charged to, and needed to return it to the store where I bought it. I only had a very faded receipt, was not at the store I bought it at, and the card I originally charged it to I don't have anymore. they told me tough luck.

I bought a 27 PNT bag about 4 yrs ago and its still running strong....minus the sand in the roller wheels.

Nothing sucks worse than having you bag break in the middle of a 2 week trip. I can thank Travel Pro for than experience.

Just don't but their leather flight bags.....mine is coming apart already

I've had the PNT for about 5.5 years and its still going strong! Few zippers have given out but with all the abuse of the bro and commuting and such, I'd say i've got my moneys worth out of it. I'll buy it again when the time comes.
Hope that helps

Going on 6 years plus for my PNT from the Turboprops to the jets it is worth the money!!!! I'd also feel guilty returning a bag knowing the professional abuse we and our bags (aren't they called FA's j/k) go through.

9 years on my 23" Purdy stealth. individual components have been replaced (handle, wheels, etc.).

To prove no bag is indestructable, the large bullet-stopping metal plate in the bottom of the bag was broken (?!) by USAir Express in the back of a Saab in PIT back in 2003. I can only imagine what happened to the bags around it.

Have had my Intl bag for 10 years and is holding up fine. I've replaced the wheels and had them do a zipper. They not only did the zipper, they replaced handle, the flight case strap and put a flap over the bottom portion of the zipper, where your flight case rubs on the zipper. All for free. I paid shipping. I also have the 737 stealth bag which I use most of the time now and it's been going strong. I high recommend their bags if you don't want to replace your bag every year.

Ditto the above recommendations. The bag is 7 years old and spent 4 years in the "yellow duffel" back in the CRJ cargo bin before the closets were redone.

As long as they aren't seriously overstuffed, they'll shoehorn into the CRJ overhead. International model won't fit in the CRJ closet unless it's standing up and it's the only occupant.

2.5 years on my PNT bag, still works just as good as the day I bought it...went thru 2 TravelPro's previously. Would def buy again if the need ever arose.
