@Crzi
You know there are hotheads on both sides right? Hell, you're one of them along with another TYS CA (Native PSAer). There are the morons yelling and bitching about "Out of my seat" and such. There are also idiots calling PSAers "Glorified prop jocks flying my retirement" blah blah blah. Its this small percentage of people on both sides that makes the loudest noise on forums like this. The majority of native PSA pilots who know anything about how this thing went together understand what J4J and CRJs mean to this company. Continual ranting about how PSA had 29 328s and this and that "Where would they be" is so tiresome. I'm just F'n sick of it.
As far as "their MEC had an epeleptic attack" (where do you work again?) The BIGGEST issue here was with former PDT/ALG pilots coming over here under J4J and becoming PSA CAs. As you point out 91 states WO pilots flow back to their respective carriers. ALSO, the number of additional guys eligable to come over was in contention. It looks like there is gonna be a class of backfills on the way. We are so short-staffed right now and especially with the departure of two CAs in the last couple weeks its only gonna be worse come this summer.
If you want to go and complain to your MEC (I take it thats AAAs) about how PSA pilots are a bunch of crybabies blah blah, that's your business. I can see how some APLers are pissed, I can see how some PSAers are pissed, I can see how some PDTsters are pissed, I can see how some AAAers are pissed, etc... It sucks, so what? Bitching about it and at each other isn't gonna solve anything. Let's friggin move on.
Mgmt is the enemy..THEY are the ones who don't give a sh*t about any of us.
Anyway, back on topic of flowthrough...I stand by my statement on page one.
Man, I need a vacation from the GD F'n place!!!
Ok, guess I didn't include it in my original post. NOT everyone over psa are hotheads....and most of them are, only when they can hide behind a screen name. And yes there's two sides to it.
Though in defense, most of my comments over on that other site, are usually clarifying miss information on stuff posted over there.
Anyways, what I was trying to point out, is there are quite a few J4J's and non-J4J's which in the past wanted,and lobbyed for a flowthrough. Some of the antics which have gone on, well have swayed the minds of some. From talking with them, they are having change of heart of such issue, and in fact, I try and talk them into still being for such a oppurtunity to be in place. In addition I know at the last AAA MEC meeting there were some furloughed individuals there to address the MEC regarding the J4J program.
As to where I work, and which MEC is mine, well that's sorta an interesting question. As I pay dues to the one where I'm working but do they represent me? Definately they do, involving anything with discipline or basic contract enforcement. But do they represent me in regards to the J4J program? Sorta a precarious postion both sides are in. How does anyone expect the MEC to represent J4J pilots as well as PSA pilots, in regards to those issues. They can't. So I guess I'm 1/2er at each place. Dunno.
I know they are trying to get the numbers straight to be able to offer a backfill class, but then again, I've heard reps discussing such thing will occur when h*ll freezes over, they have the info or strategy to keep that from occurring. (in effect hurting the J4J's qol, but yet protecting the PSA qol, so again how can the represent both sides??) So who knows what will turn out over it.
My main point before was basically PDT guys screwed the pooch. They looked short term and the hits they'd take with guys flowing back and found a way to stop it, I guess. And I agree, they should go straight CEL for any vacancies at US when and if they come about. BUT there are now approx. 200 guys out of seniority order that will go prior to any other CEL guys, when what should have happened, is they go back to PDT, then when vacancies occur they start at the top of the list. The way it is now, those guys have jumped a boatload of seniority (possibly) for any flow ups that occur...
As to the mgmt comment. you'll rarely if ever find any that do care. In fact it's in their best interest (bussiness wise) to have you malcontented and hopefully leave after 2-3 yrs. Keeps their labor costs down with the turnover, hence their probable glee at having a bunch of 1st-3rd yr pay capts on the list. But on the flipside of that, they had no problem with the thought/idea of having half the seniority list of TOS f/o's making 36 or 38/hr, whatever it was, maybe something to keep for next round of negotiations...
