Really? Really? My bag weighs 30+lbs. I thought installing the bricks were supposed to reduce our Jepp plates. I have 3 Jepp Binders that are about to explode. How about the Ipad or something.

Food for thought. Getting rid of the flight bags would save 60lbs of weight on the aircraft. Lets say that saves $1 of fuel on any given flight. According to RGT, ExpressJet flys 1 million flights in 14 months. That's a million bucks saved every 14 months. That would pay for the ipad and then some.

Didn't the company provide you training on how to properly stow your flight kit? Oh, be glad you don't have to lug those LIDOs around!

Yep, the memo just came out. I guess everybody was hurting their backs filing FMLA. Oh well.

I think it's time all 1700 pilots go to the doctor and get checked out for shoulder and back injury. We're self insured. Lets see what they say when they get the bill. iPads or else!

Maybe an attempt to cover their arse for claims, "well we issued explicit instructions to the crews" , they didn't follow these instructions, so we ain't paying! Agree though, bunch of BS!

iPads NOW!

Wait until you have to watch the new 20 minute video in RGT. Yes it exists.... I've seen it. It is appropriately dorky.

We don't pay for fuel.

i cant think of a single reason other than the above..... that memo was embarrassing/ridiculous.

Procedures for Dropping Deuce CR2, CR7/9, ( ATL CREWS ONLY)

In the event that you eat food and need to drop a deuce... there is a bathroom near the crew lounge. In the event that you cannot locate the company provided bathroom, you are permitted to use a Chief Pilots hat. In the event there is no Chief pilot on duty please proceed to nearest suitable terminal for passenger restroom. Please make sure you display your SIDA while in any non company provided bathrooms

Now that made me laugh out loud.

Just do it the "company approved way" and if you get hurt doing it that way mention on the claim application that you got hurt lifting the flight bag using the "company approved way" and your claim will not get denied.

Finally something the ERJ and CRJ pilots agree on.

Just be very careful and see your own specialist. In the olden times there were instances where crew were sent to a "clinic" near the airport for an "exam" of sorts that gave very "encouraging" news about the return-to-work timeline.

I need surgery on both rotators. 9 months recovery each, just waiting for the right time.

How about an instructional video on closing the jet's door that weighs like 300 pounds that ostensibly is our job to close. That's about the most awkward and potentially injurious thing we're asked to do. talk about rotator cuff strain!

So, is there still anybody out there that doesn't feel as though they like to micro-manage employees at ExpressJet????? It doesn't matter how you lift the d*** thing, it's still gonna turn you into a pretzel as it bangs around the flight deck, busting up the side console, and whacking the O2 mask feed line.........

Don't forget the little red guarded switch on CB 1. I've taken out a few of those.

ding ding ding. I would even stable or hand write the exact instructions on the FMLA/ OJI paperwork.

Skywest is self insured, they hate Workmanship comp claims. Be very careful how you fill out paperwork, get a attorney prior to "going OJI". We got Jepp Airside only after a bunch of COS guys went out OJI. My flight fit weighed 40 lbs, I was surprised that there weren't more OJIs.

What a bunch of pussies!

Pretty much. The same guys that need direction on how to lift the car keys out of their pockets, so they don't get poked with the pointy tips of the keys while in the employee parking lot. Poor little softies. They should call their mommies for consoling. As a man, if you get hurt lifting anything, it's all on you. It's man code 101. By the way, man code 101 is an ancient text that used to be common knowledge and widely understood.

Sorry but hurting yourself lifting a 30lb bag should be a sign you need to eat a bit better/work out.

We actually were given an explicit Ly detailed, outlined and fully annotated job aid at 9e...I thought it was April Fool's Day...This business gets crazier by the day!

I see it as the company acknowledging they are FULLY aware of the serious health risk involved in continually lifting and carrying all the materials required by this company.

Are LIDO's still at 9e? Getting rid of them would help tons! I haven't been there in 4 years, but gawd I hated LIDO's
