Maybe next time I'll go into another liberal, tree-hugging, French-loving, progressive, anti-Bush rant about how he's an elitist corporate, money-grubbing manwhore. However, it doesn't seem necessary. Anything I say gets painted that way regardless, especially by Dubya and other "correct" intellectuals on this board.

I've made it no secret that Bush needs to go, that I don't like him, and that he's the king of bumper-sticker patriotism. He touts democracy and freedom, yet criticizes anyone who dares use either one in the way they were meant (see: Spain, Richard Clarke, Paul O'Neill, and Howard Stern).

Someone oughta choke that man with the American flag. Maybe I'll just do it myself.

Because Ashcroft and Bush aren't at all interested in restricting your liberties. They're the defenders of all that is free and just, right? Take a look at the TSA and the FBI these days and tell me who is looking out for you.

Democrats may not be your friends, but Bush sure isn't either. If you speak of Nazis, maybe you should read a little history on Nazi Germany and see the parallels to the present administration. The Bush political tactics are very similar to those of the Nazis, although the situation in which they are employed is vastly different (no depression, no lost war, different governmental system, and constitution separating powers). This is why Bush and his buddies will never succeed in their quest for consolidated power. They can't beat the US Constitution.

Like it or not, your defense of our great governing document (for which you should be very proud and commended) will prevent Bush from ever gaining as much power as he'd like. It will prevent the same for the Dems. Our constitution enbodies gridlock and centrist politics. It will never be possible to create another rightist totalitarian state, no matter the tactics, without throwing out the US Constitution.

Unlike you, I know how to read. A book I'm reading now about Nazi Germany was written in 1995 (long before Clinton was even considered effective and long before GWB even stopped snorting coke). It lists FACTS, among other things. Of course, you'd actually have to READ and BELIEVE FACTS to get anything out of it.

I think both sides suck. I voted GWB last time around, but will not make the mistake again. Too much BS from him - no stem cell research, the FCC, Homeland Security, Iraq, immigration, the list goes on...but then again Kerry is no better.
