You are right, you guys MIGHT be allowed to interview.Whale Rider said:UPS won't be able to do to Polar/Atlas what it did to challenge. We're a whole different animal. Its not as simple as just taking route authority, its a lot more complicated than that.
Oh well, like you said, Its just a RUMOR.UPSer said:Here's one for you, UPS senior management said recently that UPS was not finished with aquiring additional freight forwading companies, and there are rumors here of UPS again interested in Polar/Atlas. They are probably most interested in Polar's route authority and the -400s.
It's nice to know that you are all in favor of a bottom feeder taking market share from two of the dwindling number of airlines worth working for ( FedEx and UPS ). I'm sure you are all in favor of your RJs taking flying away from mainline. It's amazing now how many pilots, mostly at the regionals or bottom feeders, that are actually joyful at the bad economic news hitting the mainlines. I hope you enjoy flying that RJ, for it will be all you will see for many, many years.Tomct said:Man, I think that would be a bad deal if UPS bought Polar or Atlas. There needs to be competition out there to keep all of these companies honest! I hope that is just a rumor and that Polar and Atlas merge and become one BIG company. I think that they could really do some damage (as in market share) to the other companies out there! Hopefully, I will hear something from them SOON!!!
Thank you GCD! I tip my Wing to you Sir. Save your money...I'll buy the Beer.GCD said:UPSer,
I feel your pain, man. Your'e like a Kerry voter. You just can't get over it. You can't get over AAWWH (Atlas and Polar) getting more route structure, more market share, and the fact that the FedUPS suit can't ruin DHL's business, so you resort to calling us names.
You seem to have the "woe for us attitude," not addressing the real problem. Obviously, you can't see that the economy is booming for cargo, and there is enough for all of us. If you lose any of the share, it's not our fault. Try your marketing department. We don't have catchy little phrases like, "what blue and white can do for you." Our marketing department, however, is out shaking the heck out of the bushes for share. Between Atlas and Polar, we have a great reputation with customers. I wish that Uncle Sam didn't have me for this busy season, as it is going to be a busy and fun one, which I will miss.
You, also, seem to have a personal problem with the professionals at Atlas and Polar. Calling us Bottom Feeders. Well, I wouldn't call you a name. In fact, I would probaly offer to buy you a beer. You see, I am able to separate what my company or your company does from how professional pilots should interact. I could say some really mean things about UPS and FedEX, but I am above that as a professional.
I hope you have a busy and fun season.
