Just heard from one of our engineers that as a result of our recent arbitration award, ALL FE's are to be re-instated with full back pay, and insurance, due to their wrongful discharge. Stand-by for further NEWS!!

Hopefully this is the turn around we've been waiting for!!!!

Could just mean they'd come back to a "furloughed" status rather than "terminated" in which case they would get 4-6 months pay??? Anyone?

Apparantly the crew members won the "improper furlough" grievance. Will take a couple of days to find out the details.

Basically it involved the "illegal" per the contract furlouoghs while Atlas was flying Polar routes. (Large number of Polar flights done by Atlas currently)

If this is in fact the case, it would appear that furloughed (pilots) and fired (engineers) would be back on the payroll with back pay etc.

Could be interesting in the next few days. Even prior to the furloughs Polar did not have enough pilots and planes to cover all their flying. A bunch of routes kept being funneled to Atlas and most of the newhires were being sent to the Atlas side. Last count I saw was back around May and it amounted to 200 + flights a month, it has grown since then obviously with the parking and selling of the classics.

If this is the case and all Polar flying is required to be returned to Polar, they no longer have the airplanes to do it with.......unless they come from somewhere else.

Gonna be interesting to watch, where is my popcorn? :)
