"Bob Dylan":

Just curious. You left Continental and hired on at UPS the 2nd half of 2007. You have a great gig, and appear to have been very fortunate and very successful with your career. It is OBVIOUS that you have a great resume and solid background and demonstrated skillsets that 2 MAJOR Airlines wanted and hired. Congratulations... my hats off to you and I MEAN that.

Question: With these kind of credentials and accomplishments that YOU have achieved.... why do you exhibit the online immaturity that you have taken towards the AAI Pilots, and start and facilitate online bickering, dissent, and fights between 2 opposite carriers that have no concern to you?

It really surprises me to see someone of your stature and obvious position in this industry, to be so bored with life, to log online and act like this, anonymously behind a keyboard.

Why?

Great post, I guess there is no such thing as the GOLDEN RULE on the internet.

.......... but using statements I made from the past and applying them to our situation now? A little out of context, don't ya think?

Yes Officer Mark Fuhrman.

During cross-examination, Fuhrman, when asked by defense attorney F. Lee Bailey whether he had used the word "staple", said he hadn't used the word in 10 years. The defense produced four witnesses to establish that Fuhrman had used the word "staple" more recently; as well as an audiotape contradicting his testimony.

I'm comfortable that we've established the context of the statement. You want to keep dredging up the comments of one person who was on the street when he said them? I'm sure that will get you a LOT of mileage in the SLI...

Or maybe he's a former SWA dude that's now an AirTranny. Oh, wait, there aren't any of those. Questions? :D

PW

Uh, just one.

What do you hope to accomplish with all of your negativity towards your future coworkers? You can post all day and all night, but it's not going to change your ISL position by one number. All you're doing is impressing yourself . . . . and no one else.

Actually, I'm not trying at all to project any negativity towards my future coworkers. I'm just pointing out that when it comes to what people expect from a career at any given airline, they will always move in the direction that they think increases the quality of their career. Since no one (except maybe one fired SWA dude - unsubstantiated) moved in the direction SWA to AAI but there are plenty of examples of the opposite, then it seems fairly unanimous which airline the pilot community would rather work at as a whole (with respect to these two). As they say, the proof is in the pudding. But only because we have better pay, better workrules, better QoL, better management, better benefits, better.....it's nothing personal, just better. And for the record, I intentionally did not put "better pilots" or "better people" because I don't believe that at all. So, please don't try to imply any negativity to my posts Ty, that truly would be the pot calling the kettle African American.

Fraternally,
PapaWoody

That's called an anecdote, and it's not going to impress an Arbitrator.

How many SWA pilots left SWA to go to UAL, CAL, Delta, American, USAir? Things change. Contracts change. The industry changes. Seniority within the list doesn't change.

A handful, literally. Our attrition rate since the start of SWA has been lower than any other carrier as supported by public filings. What has AirTrans attrition rate been? 5-10% annually?

The good new for all AT pilots is that you will no longer be looking for another job. No matter where you fall I'd wager you will likely stay here until retirement. It is that good here. Welcome aboard.
