You are striking wildly in all directions it's turning into a babble.

Think, slow down, try to put together a coherent train of thoughts, and try again. Let me help you.

Now what is it you are trying to say General? Or perhaps ramblings, insulting, and confusing posts like the one here is all you have to offer?

Bye Bye
General Clown

Look Professor Dumbledore, you can spin it anyway you want (doesn't matter), but many Mesaba guys who turned down the flow are now thinking about how smart of a decision that was. If they were 64 (like all the Capains you claim), then maybe not, but the younger ones probably made an incredible mistake. We've all been to BK before, and it aint fun. Have you talked to any departed Mesaba Captain to the flow up that wishes he/she had stayed at Mesaba? Didn't think so. Enjoy PNCL forever, hopefully.

Jesus, would you shut the f*ck up for a minute? I don't care what you have to say, and you keep trying to thread jack yourself into something that has nothing to do with you.

So go to Rio, or whereever the hell you go. But this post is now off limits to you. Why not leave the hotel for a change? 15,000+ posts don't lie.

Whatever! Take some laxatives. And NO, I can give my opinion on anything I want. Throw IGNORE on, I will do it for you too. Bye!

Hey GL,

You are really starting to make me ticked off. While I fully agree that the majors should hold scope tight (and tighten if able) you really have no clue about things. You may be a "widebody" guy, but you are disconnected from the process at this point. The 76 seaters prolonged the regional ranks. Whether a guy stays or goes, it's not for you to judge. I have grown up in an "airline world" and can tell you that many of the guys that I knew growing up are miserable human beings just to be at a "major". People don't necessarily want to "give up" their families for a "major". I'm 26, and while I would love to go somewhere else, passenger carries don't make the list. If I get to spend time with my family, and make a livable salary, I am a happy man. Eventually, I will apply to the likes of FDX, but until then... Every moment with my family (debt free) is worth the world.

Feel free to tell me I don't know what I am missing. I grew up in MEM (be a rocket scientist and figure out why) and fully understand there are other carriers that pay better. Getting a single phone call from a far part of the world at 4am to wish me a "happy birthday" wasn't worth the $200+ an hour that supported the family. If nothing else, family is everything, and nobody can judge that.

You can pound sand. Not everyone wants to be like you. You even sound miserable. Now boast about your layover... I will be in the bed with my wife. Best layover ever. That's a boast that I am proud of.

I can pound sand? Wow. Who says you have to be on the other side of the World if you don't want to? You can always choose to fly DOM or INTL, unless you go to Kalitta or Southern Air. You do whatever makes you happy, but my whole point is the guys who could have flowed up might have made a mistake. Try not to get all upset. Stay with your family and do what is best, but some decisions are really important, and that is the point.

General I know a few pilots that did make the jump and were screwed by the system. They went to United, American, Delta ect. Most of the United guys have finally given up and moved on the non-flying jobs and will not return. 2 of the American guys are just now returning to American after nearly 10 years on furlough. No it did not work out for them. They wish they would have stayed at their regional jobs.
You were lucky in both when and where you were hired. You are a fool to think anything other than timing is why you are in the position you are in.

I kinda see what's going on here. You're a little clueless on the history of the flow. The first set of guys with the option to flow were too old to make the math work (and I never said they were 64, see post #54 if you need to review, you have a problem reading but we've been over that) with the Northwest payscales at the time. Additionally the loss in earning (which was a 5-7 recovery time) they would not be able to continue pouring into their 401k either which makes matters even more frustrating. The wage at NW was unsustainable and not worth the investment in time unless you had 7 or more years left.

You say they are regretting their decision, that may be a possibility. You have to remember though, a lot of these pilots aren't handicapped (like you), and they realize no one had a crystal ball, so it's easy to forgive yourself. In fact I would hope that happens almost immediately. They made the best decision with the information available and making six figures with 15-19 days off isn't a terrible life. Even if we do furlough as a result of the bankruptcy they will still make six figures with 15-19 days off. I really don't know how better to spell this out to you... but I am comforted in knowing you choose not to understand anyway. I regret not playing the powerball 3 14 20 39 40 37, but I have yet to play powerball because I don't have a crystal ball. So my regret is superficial, just like theirs.

I feel you are projecting your regrets onto other pilots, and I'm curious why that is. You have some horrible regret that causes you to hide in the magic porn box in an effort to distract you from your own life. Whatever you've done, it's ok, try to move forward and enjoy your life. Whatever mistakes you've made and pain you've caused yourself will ease with time. So let the adults talk, and you go enjoy that overnight. Also, it helps to read a book, get back in the habit, instead of just seeing whatever you want to see.

I find it bizarre that you answer that question if you've spoken to some of our flows. If you had you would realize the paycut has been tough on more than one of them. I suppose it is possible you have spoken to a few flows and not run into the guys who have had hard times (but still manage to smile), I know I haven't talked to ALL of them, but it's been a mixed bag. Perhaps you give the same sort of attention to people talking as you do to reading, I'm worried that may be the case.

You should talk to some of our guys that went to SWA, who knows they could be making more than you. When you looked into your crystal ball why didn't you decide to goto SWA when you had the chance? Is that the deep well of regret you have that makes you bury yourself into this site so much? Perhaps some of the SWA people here can help you out, it's never too late.

Who the FU&$K are you to say what is a mistake for another person, who YOU DONT EVEN FUC&$KING KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND WHY THE FUC$&K DO YOU CARE???????????? You have a sickness and a dang superiority complex! Do you not realize that nobody gives a rats a$$ what you think they should do with their lives? Nobody cares if you make fun of their Green Bay overnight! Nobody cares. You are a broken record that has so little joy in his life that you only derive sick pleasure from poking others. You don't get to decide what makes people other than you happy, or what they should or should not do! Get it????

I am not talking about the others, I am talking about the flow up to Delta, not NWA that was beforehand, the last one. Other airlines probably had bad ones, and I am not familiar with those, but I am with the one that was offered recently (a year or so ago?). That was a perfect opportunity for guys to bail from Mesaba, especially with the known fact that there is a huge amount of retirements coming up here. The flow up included NO INTERVIEW, NO MEDICAL, NO PSYCH EVAL, nothing but a class date. A VERY VERY GOOD DEAL, and some of you guys at Mesaba turned it down! And then it wasn't passed on to anyone else, you couldn't just pass it along until someone took it. Some may have been worried about being furloughed possibly down the road, but there is still a flown down (if necessary) to Compass, which would have been available, to their Captain seats. (Still can't figure out why the Mesaba flow down slots were taken, that is a bit ridiculous, since some people DID take the flow up.....) Now Delta is making money, and retirements are coming up, and there was no interview/medical/tests etc. MSP and DTW were junior bases (some got NYC, but within a bid they could go back to MSP/DTW most likely) All I can say is WOW. Unbelievable.
