Oops. The MEC should not be spouting that. Call it what is. An interview only!

It is an interview, however, the number of seats in class are locked in, it just doesn't require a pilot's name to be attached to the seat.

To say it another way, as to avoid confusion, a yearly look back would require DAL to take the bridge agreement's prescribed amount PNCL pilots.

Get it?

Make sure of that, in writing...

Good luck trying to enforce that.

The amount of seats in the class may be locked in, but it doesn't say how many Pinnacle pilots they have to interview to fill those seats. It just says they go through the list twice and then it's done. Obviously it won't be this bad, but they could interview every single pilot at Pinnacle twice and only take enough to fill one class, right? There isn't a percentage of Pinnacle pilots they need to take, just a percentage of each class that needs to be Pinnacle pilots until they go through the list twice.

Yup, there is no limit or percentage of interveiwees that need to be taken. Delta very well could interview everyone on the list, turn them all down, then interveiw everyone again and take 12 out of the 2400+ and be free and clear of any further obligations. Meanwhile this turd contract will still be in force and if we ever fight to get anything back it allows Delta to cancel all flying. Sorry $6k isn't enough of a bribe to eat that crap sandwich.

It was never intended that Pinnacle, or any other regional for that matter, be career airlines. It was the unfortunate result of 911, and the economy. Like everything else in this industry, this too is cyclical. It's going to happen reardless of whether this TA passes or not. The 50 seaters are going away, and there will be less airplanes to fly at the regional level. This will only increase the supply of trained pilots available to work for these SH1t wages. Don't believe me? Several Comair pilots are now working at GoJets and Compass. Delta will get their cheap lift one way or another. In my opinion, it would be better to ride this thing out until something better is available. Starting over at another regional would hurt a lot more, and when they start downsizing, we may be furloughed anyway. This is just my opinion, and you're entitled to your's

I do not believe Delta will interview everyone twice. A pilot has to meet Delta's requirements before they are offered an interview. So... In order for me to qualify (I am a 5+ year FO) I need to upgrade and be a captain for a year. I don't see an upgrade in my future here ever. So they might go through a "qualified" list (captains with four year degree), but not everyone, not the FO's. I've been in this industry since the late 90's, this is just "Smoke and Mirrors"!!!look for the Gotchas. There are there.

You are naive to think that that this will be only unique to Pinnacle. How long do you think it will take to up-grade at the other regionals once they start parking 50 seaters? Up-grades will be several years away if you're not already on property at another regional before Pinnacle goes away.

It's bad enough when a flow is used as a carrot, but this is not even a flow.

I am assuming there was a side deal (there were rumors about side deals when they canceled the last flow for Mesaba) to say they will take those ALPA reps who were in the meeting-you, you, you, you, you you you....and we want a provision to go through the list, create whatever standards for hiring Pinnacle pilots we want on that day, and deny whoever we want. We will go through the list, and then its done. Oh yeah, if ALPA is voted out, you lose the bridge and all your planes. Got it?

I am sure it went something like that.

Absolutely no reason Delta will not take a good number of pilots from 9E. There are a lot of very sharp pilots on the 9E ISL with spotless company/FAA records as well as a ton of valuable flight experience. I have seen who Delta has hired from our ranks in the past and we have many others who are as good or better than those individuals. Delta can turn down some of the undesirables but at the end of the day we have spots in class guaranteed with sir Richards signature on it. If the requisite number of 9E pilots are not in Delta classes on a yearly basis then we have a breach of contract.

That and a Metrocard will get you on the subway in New York every time.

Naive! Yep you got me. Mystery solved.

This is just too dang funny. What do people at 9E drink?? This has got to be more than just purple kool-aid!!

Then again, I haven't fed a troll in a long time...

Consider your quarterly feeding completed.

One day you will learn about smoke and mirrors. However, I hope you are right and your smoke and mirror lesson is not to be learned this time around.

If it isn't in writing then it doesn't exist.

Way too much KoolAid in this post. "Breach of contract"? Tell that to a judge who won't care when 9E is a WHOLLY owned carrier of Delta and Delta decides to change some metrics.

While I agree there are lots of good pilots at 9E that would be good pilots at Delta, the SSP interview is not going to be covering that crowd initially. The first couple hundred pilots at 9E have been at 9E Corp companies from the 80s and 90s. Let's face it, if they had a desire to go to Delta, they would have a long time ago. For their personal reasons, they did not. Now that 9E is screwed, they want their chance to flow up first. If I was a Delta HR, you can bet I'd ask that in the interview. Why Delta? And why now? I see you had 5000hrs in the 90s, did you apply to Deta then? How about the mid 2000 decade hiring cycle? Or the 2010 cycle? Isn't it true you're only here because 9E's predicament? Or are these illegal questions?

What part is not in writing? Their are very specific written terms in the bridge agreement that specifically state how it will be enforced such as: f. Measurement of compliance with Hiring commitment and h. Exhaustion of hiring commitment.

First Officers are not eligible for the program until they upgrade to captain and serve a one year lock. The agreement states that the program will run until the most junior pilot on the seniority list is offered an opportunity to participate in the streamlined selection process. They also can wait another year after a failed attempt to take another crack at it.

The point is that it will take years before every pilot on the list upgrades, fulfills the seat lock, and thus has the opportunity to participate in the process. The end result is that every December 31 that goes by means seats in Delta classes numbering from 144-240 annually.

Where is this KoolAid served? You really think this agreement is going to last? It would 20 years to get everyone on the list through to Delta. No way does this last that long. Honestly, don't even see 9E being around another 5.

copy and save all of these koolaide posts and post it back up a year from now.

No kool aid here and don't need it to last 20 more years, just long enough to get on with Delta or another carrier. As far as all these senior folks that could have left years ago but chose not too: There will be some that try to leave but there are many that think another 7-8 years gets them close enough to retire. These same guys watched former XJ(9E) pilots get furloughed from carriers like United for 10 years and its on their mind. 80 in the top 240 have the Mesaba flow and I would guess another 100 or so in the top 240 will stay lifers so there really are not that many in the top that will choose the SSP. (around 60 with 160 being the maximum in the top 240)

As far as how you answer the question about why Delta and why now? Probably somewhat difficult for the 60 that had enough PIC too move on years ago. Pretty easy for anyone junior to a 300 seniority number as 911, BK, lack of hiring, and lack of flight time kept many of us from being considered by Delta until now. Many in the 300's have had their application in at Delta for years.

Oh I forgot you have that crystal ball. What a relief because if you are sure we are not going to be around in 1 year either way than I am glad I voted yes and helped pass the TA. Now I can collect my $12000.00 and we can all get some furlough benefits and health insurance. Or should I vote no and be shut down in a year and get nothing?

As far as flyer's predictions: Remember when you told me that Mesaba really didn't contribute much to the merger by bringing only 41 900's and the 9E 200's would never go away? Well its looking like XJ brought everything to the merger.

I never said the 200s would never go away. Stop making up things about me. Everything I said about 9E Corp came to be true and that's why I left. XJ brought 41 -900s, but more importantly they brought Saab pilots who had no planes to go if it was not for original 9E's planes. You're welcome.

Making things up? And everything you say about 9E Corp came true? Here are some of your greatest hits from FI:

"CptMurf has good points. I honestly think it'll end up being straight-up DOH, with protection for current seat/base." Flyer1015

"Your future is nothing like what ours was. Our ASAs were through 2017 for the 200s." 06/08/2011 Flyer1015

"Pinnacle's 200 fleet has not been touched. No cuts of 50 seat jets at Pinnacle so far. IMO, we won't see any until at least 2017 when the CPA is up." 05/06/2011 Flyer1015

"Nah, I don't believe you bring equal value to the merger." 06/08/2011 Flyer1015"

What a relief we are keeping the 200's until 2017 because flyer predicted it in 2011.
