Mesa, Pinnacle, Express Jet, Republic to have a contract termination notice. Mesaba Compass to merge, Comair to get spun off, then die. My predictions so that Super Delta can keep it all in house.

Subject to change of course.

Well, ExpressJet have pretty good numbers for Delta and now we can negotiate an even better agreement since CAL dropped all the restrictions...

And the "Reduction in Capacity" begins.

Sorry guys.

Comair has been hiring 12 a week(and will continue for the rest of the summer), for "potential growth." We all figured it was for the freedom flying but this could be it as well.

Ive heard pinnacle is very badly short staffed so hopefully there will be little backwards movement and no furloughs.

Who ever hired for "potential growth"? But that has been what Comair management has been saying for months now. I personally ask the Comair CEO why we are hiring so much during this downward cycle in the industry and all he would say was that it was for "growth". Did not say where or when it is coming but I am finally optimistic for Comair.

How many CRJ-900s does ExpressJet operate again? I think Delta would give those aircraft to airlines that can readily operate them.

I can allready see the theme of this thread.....

MY SH**TY JOB IS BETTER THAN YOUR SH**TTY JOB!!!!

AND IT WILL PROBABLY GO ON FOR ABOUT A WEEK

Ding Ding! We have a winner!
.......

Plus, don't you know....Skywest already has a 900 program in place. Starting one at ASA would just be too expensive now!

I thought we already had the shell of the program in place from when we were slated to get the original 900s? What all would have to be done to get the program up and goin? And who owns those 900s?

Where did I mention that ExpressJet is to get the CRJ-900? Read my post again. I said that perhaps Delta will not give a notice to terminate our current CPA out of LAX because now we have more to offer delta (i.e. flying into CAL hubs and removal of the most-favored-notion clause)

I believe when the original CRJ-900 order came out, they were all purchased by Delta to be operated by whom ever they chose.

Your post was somewhat open ended and left open to interpretation. My bad!

ASA is already operating some 70 seaters on Pinnacle's struggling routes. (Per Scott Hall). I would guess those 90's are coming to ASA. ASA also has an overwater exemption...Pinnacle does not. I have a feeling destinations in the Carribbean will grow out of ATL....

I was just in MCN on Sat. I assure you there are no 900's anywhere in MCN. I was in the hangar, on the ramp and asked the lead........No 900's.

Sorry.

How does PNCL's on time performance compare to ASA's out of ATL?

PNCL's performance numbers per the DCI chart that we have on our company intranet site are consistently at or near the bottom. ASA as of late with the addition of ACARS and Brad Holt(kickin a$$ and making things finally run smoother) has been near the middle. We seem to be right inline with Mother D and on most days we are ahead.

We will never be able to pass Republic, XJet and Skywest as the bulk of our flying is done from the worlds busiest airport but I'd say our numbers are pretty good now and getting better all the time.

Of course who knows, we may be the next airlline to get the cut from the DCI portfolio...but I kinda doubt it.

Great point. And add to that ASA is operating over 900 flights/day. The highest volume of any other Regional Carrier. I think Comair is next, but I don't have the exact number. RP and SkyW have significantly lower volumes and at least SkyW operates out of an airport for DL (SLC) with I'd guess half or less of the volume ATL has.

Anyone know if PNCL had any spares? Were there any extra aircraft to cover if one went TU for maintenance?

I had heard that the 900 that seemed to be sitting at the old NWA hangar all the time was a spare. Don't know if they had one designated as a spare.

9E's 900 op out of ATL really had no chance from the get go it seems. Delta probably gave them an impossible schedule to fly, they didn't have a big enough operation to make up for when you have a CNX or delay early in the morning and they were dependant upon ATL rampers and gate agents to make it run. How could you expect them to have good performance numbers under those circumstances.?.?

True.

Of course, what was the real reason Pinnacle was brought to ATL to begin with?

ASA has a contract now.

The only surprise is that Delta whacked a CRJ900 operator. I really did think that those aircraft had the best numbers (revenue/cost) in the DCI system.
