That's what I am thinking, delta is very forward thinking whereas American is so far behind, just now starting to outsource to everyone. Delta could be the first to bring everything in. Once again highly unlikely but not impossible

ha! against the law? That is unless its a "letter of agreement". I often wondered how Delta could be taking so many aircraft on delivery, not parking the 9's, and not hiring. They could not be that over staffed or use their reserves that well. We shall see. I would not expect Delta to give up on paying pilots peanuts for 7 years. I also could see a secret "B" scale with fences to preserve the rates we have now with a seniority number. Another way around a staple would be to "hire" us all in seniority order. Delta just bought a refinery, changing the rules as we all know them for airlines-I should expect something similar here-

Remember though, those 737 900 Are replacements for the 757s. The 717s will take care of the DC-9's. And only the last third of them will be growth aircraft. They also have 200 Plus guys on military leave that can come back anytime that they want to and they are reducing capacity year over year in 2013

Supposedly, not all 757s will be replaced. The 757-300s and the 757-200s with winglets will stay. (The 17 ex TWA 757-200s bought from AA were among the latest 757s built in the early 90s I believe) The initial 100 739ERs will be replacing one for one 757s, A320s that are hitting the cycle limit, and some domestic 767-300s that also at close to the cycle limit. There still is an option for 30 more 739ERs, plus this supposed upcoming order for 24-30 737/320s that could be built just prior to Boeing or Airbus switching their production lines to their NEO product. The 717s will be replacing 76 seaters(which along with 70 seaters will replace 50 seaters) and will be "growth" planes, while 14 more MD90s will be replacing the DC9s, all subject to change of course....(as told by a little birdy)

I for one just want to express my sympathy for the mem and ATl pilots. Families are always affected by displacements but in this case, families that are deeply rooted to the area. Good luck

yeah, that higney guy..... I hear he is the leader. Just joking. Good luck Ken. I dont envy the situation you are all in. I am assuming the HQ change had more to do with Delta pulling the flying out of MEM than it did with the economics of which building was more expensive. But even on that note I am sure Building C is all paid for while the lease in MEM is cheap...its still a lease.

Be the best thing to happen to you really. Can't staple you it's against the law....

Not quite true. If both pilot groups negotiate an agreement and both pilot groups ratify it you can 'staple' a seniority list in a merger. The way most PCL pilots feel right now that would be fine with them. The law says if the two groups cannot agree it must go to arbitration. If it did go to arbitration the PCL pilots would get stapled with fences anyway.
