If Colgan is below the Q400 Captain quota, why are there premerger Pinnacle and Mesaba pilots being awarded Q Captain. Don't get me wrong I think all the Quota's should be dropped for all airframes. I am just trying to make some since of all this.

No, Vegas cannot be explained. Unless the message that the 9E committee was trying to say is that we're willing to gamble this whole process away, which it seems they did anyway. Why would our committee want to meet at LAS or Hawaii for any of the meetings? They are there to negotiate a SLI, not hit the slot machines or the Hawaiian beaches.

You are aware that the merger guys didn't negotiate in Vegas right? You are talking about an MEC meeting. It was a $5K savings doing it in Vegas vs. MEM due to hotels and food costs.

I asked the merger guys and they did MEM and DC (MSA picked those), and PHX (CJC picked that). PCL didn't pick a spot and were willing to go wherever. Nobody ever went to hawaii (MEC or Merger).

Here is the grief model called "The 7 Stages of Grief":

1. SHOCK & DENIAL-

You may rail against fate, questioning "Why me?" You may also try to bargain in vain with the powers that be for a way out of your despair ("I will never drink again if you just bring him back")

4. "DEPRESSION", REFLECTION, LONELINESS-
Just when your friends may think you should be getting on with your life, a long period of sad reflection will likely overtake you. This is a normal stage of grief, so do not be "talked out of it" by well-meaning outsiders. Encouragement from others is not helpful to you during this stage of grieving.
During this time, you finally realize the true magnitude of your loss, and it depresses you. You may isolate yourself on purpose, reflect on things you did with your lost one, and focus on memories of the past. You may sense feelings of emptiness or despair.

5. THE UPWARD TURN-
As you start to adjust to life without your dear one, your life becomes a little calmer and more organized. Your physical symptoms lessen, and your "depression" begins to lift slightly.

Given the pain and turmoil you have experienced, you can never return to the carefree, untroubled YOU that existed before this tragedy. But you will find a way forward.

PCL didn't pick a spot and were willing to go wherever. Nobody ever went to hawaii (MEC or Merger).

They did however propose meetings. One proposal was on a cruise ship, because it would be a quiet setting away from everyone. I agree though that none of the outlandish proposal were accepted, and all meetings were in a professional setting.

I actually think a cruise ship could be good. As long as you have a conference room. It's a new way of "lock em in a room" since you won't have cell coverage out there.

I'm not saying I agree, just saying it would be a form of isolation that is hard to come by in today's mobile world.

I'm still trying to figure out where this Hawaii thing is coming from.
