Just a couple of performance questions for avantair or piaggio guys.

Runway takeoff length at max gross
Landing distance
Fuel burn
Contaminated landing and takeoff numbers?

Thanks D

Diesel, #1 depends on PA and Temp
#2 depends on PA and Temp, and weight
#3 Depends of FL
#4 in POH depends on Grooved type of snow etc, same as most part 25 aircraft

#1 Actually, the weight of the aircraft has no effect on the length of the runway.

wait i think i misunderstood, but are you saying that weight doesnt affect takeoff length?

No, I'm saying the weight of the aircraft has no bearing on the length of the runway.

How about max gross. In every instance.

Standard temps since a range and a straight answer is too tough.

Hour 1, 2, 3 ,4 burn.

Ask a vauge question and ya get a vauge answer...

Anyway, I shall try;

Runway takeoff length at max gross
Landing distance
Fuel burn
Contaminated landing and takeoff numbers?

#1 At sea level with no obstical on a standard day at max weight I'd guess about 2900 foot ground roll.

#2 Same instance I'd guess around 2,000 feet of ground roll.

#3 A good rule of thumb is the 8/6/4 rule. 800lbs for the first hour, 600 for every middle hour, and 400 for the last hour. ie; 3 1/2 hour flight equals 1200 lbs for the first and last leaving 900 lbs for the middle 1 1/2 hours for a total burn of 3100 lbs for the flight.

#4 Contamination would increase the t/o numbers and decrease the landing numbers. Seriously, I'd have to open a book to look that up and I'm not prepared to put forth that much effort tonight for a pointless question.

glass thanks for the answer.

I hear the plane is tough to handle when it comes to crosswinds. If you're landeding on a contaminated runway would you do it with a crosswind? oh and the runway is about 3200ft. (lets say the numbers work for it)

I hear it a mx nightmare. Is that only the later numbers or are the newer ones mx problems too? Is there an external cargo area?

Sorry but the website really doesn't have much info.

ps how are the leading edges protected from ice?
