Something does not add up with that statement is true.

Heck, they got their bags 5 days later..

That's because when you're flight gets canceled or you miss a connection, the airline puts you on the next flight with available seats...not the next flight. They won't re-book you on another airline, however, you're more than welcome to sit standby at the airport everyday just in case an open seat becomes available.

Airlines are such a lovely way to travel!
