Faisal may have had a problem in training in the rj at ACA, Indy. So did a lot of people who now work at JB. This guy is a stand up guy who has been in this country for 33 years. I don't know all of the details but I think what JB did was wrong.

If he thinks he is being singled out for his religion, maybe he needs to stop and look at who is causing the terrorism in the world. Not everyone of his faith is a terrorist. But the facts are the facts. Members of his religion are causing these problems and if JB was concerned then they did the right thing. Imagine if something happened after they hired him. We would all be saying why did they hire him? Members of his religion need to stand up and tell the ones causing the problems to stop. WTF? He had a problem in training, and you do not know all the details, but what JB did was wrong? So, JB's hiring criteria should be:
1. Been in country at least 33 years.
2. Stand up guy.

Jetblue gets sued about 20 times a week according to our legal man in DC. This one just makes the news, unfortunately, I think he said we settle out of court with most of them while others get dismissed outright. We do operate out of Sue City, New York... Nothing new here... Furthermore, jetblue has a great track record on the people we hire and if this guy got the boot after the offer, it sounds to me like he was on the "no fly" list or something of that nature or someone in the company saw his name on the Phase II list and torpedoed him. We hired many FLY-I guys and gals after their disposition, all are very highly regarded as individuals, from the ones I've met...

For those that do not know the process at JB, you interview in phase 1 and then if you pass, you go on to phase 2. Phase 2 is an agonizing background search. I do not know this guy, and I would hate to think he actually was discriminated against, but knowing the folks that are in charge of that program, I will stand behind their call. There are not a bunch of "managers" in that department so this is not like one of 20 "managers" stepped out of line. When the decision is made, the head of the department calls. The head of this department is probably the most pro active and "caring" person I have run into in administrative work. This was no "off the cuff" decision. This had to be painful for JB to make this decision.

Sounds to me like JB is full of themselves when making hiring decisions! Get over yourselves with the exhaustive background checks.....its just a freaking airplane that pays ********************e these days!

If I start a company I should have the FREEDOM to hire whoever I want to, regardless of the reason. Working for me is not an equal right provided by the bill of rights or the constitution. If I want to fire a long time employee and replace him with someone else, then that is my RIGHT.

As long as the termination is with just cause..... Employers must operate within the law. In fact the law requires some companies to hire a certian percentage of minorites.

I should have the right to operate my business as I see fit, and others have the right to not work for me or purchase my products. So should JetBlue.

You have the right to run your business as long as it complies with federal, state and local laws. This is not a right but a legal and moral obligation.
