Darn straight I do! This is America! If a company doesn't want to hire you because you have too many letters in your name, it is their RIGHT to do so. All of this PC crap has got to end, or it is going to take this great country right down the crapper. It is NOT the governments place to tell private companies and individuals how to conduct business... it is up to the businesses to decide & the marketplace to judge their decisions.

Holy crap. I ain't no liberal but...holy crap. This has GOT to be flame bait.

The founding fathers would be rolling their graves hearing crap like this. You act like you're a patriotic American but you refuse to have equal rights? Its not "PC crap", it's what this whole country stands for. Opportunity for everyone, fair shot no matter what your beliefs/skin color etc etc. I'm all for protecting this country, but this blind ignorance bull$hit has got to stop. Just pathetic.

The "market" has a poor record when it comes to worker safety, child-labor laws, envirionmental protections, discrimination based on age, sex ...

JetBlue does not owe this clown anything, he should be sueing OBL if he has a problem. Is he a citizen? that is a major issue in hiring these days.

Ditto on my class at JB....I was in class for over a week with an offer of employment that was tied to the completion of my background check.

It kinda scared me at first.....but I knew my background was clean and that I had told them everything they needed to know.

If JB found something in his background that mattered, it mitigated the employment offer. Further, I know of at least two guys who were turned down and later hired when the background check was straightened out.

Well in fairness the founding fathers were all for equal rights amongst WASP Males, Haji doesn't appear to meet the criteria.

Okay, Guys,

First of all we are obviously missing some facts here. Being part of the hiring process here at B6 for 2 years, NO ONE in HR is going to look you in the face and give you the reason you did not get hired. Your personal information is held in the utmost confidentiality, and it sounds like the facts are not complete. A person can get the axe in Phase 2 for training problems, discipline problems, driving problems, FAA certificate actions, etc... A thorough background check is just that--thorough! If a person does not get through Phase 2, they sometimes feel cheated, but the PHC makes their decisions on ALL the information presented. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
FWIW....:)

No, This sounds gay:
" SAAAAY, How Could you wear those pants with that eye shadow?"

Black Balled!

Well, jetBlue has a reputation of black balling people. Perhaps someone he worked with at Independence who now works for jetBlue heard through the grapevine that he got hired then went to the people department and said he had a problem with this person working at jetBlue too.

OR there IS something sinister in his background.

OR, as I've heard before, after many, many months of waiting just to get phase 2, they decide 'no' to phase 1.

OR, maybe the applicant is not being truthful. What airline ever discloses the reason they don't hire someone? Hummmm......

This sounds more gay:
"Timmy, slow down! you are bruising my cheeks!"

All you guys who are so quick call some one a "hater". Here's a question.

1. Would you feel comfortable if 20 of your pax were 18 - 30 year old Arab Muslim men on your aircraft?

2. Would you feel comfortable when 10 of them stood up at once and moved in unison toward the front of the aircraft?

3. Would you just sit there and say "I'm going to be fair and give them the benefit of the doubt"?

If you answered "no" to 1 & 2 then that must make you a hatefilled person. If you answered "yes" then you don't understand the nature of the threat.

I don't know this guys real story but he's probably just got sour grapes.

Of course I wouldn't be comfortable with that. If they were white, black, green, purple, it doesn't matter, yes I would not be comfortable with 10 people gathering at the cockpit door. But this is not the case. The guy is just trying to make a living, he's been in the cockpit for 6 years now. I don't know why you posted this little story, because I don't know anyone that would be comfortable in that situation. It has absolutely nothing to do with one Pakistani man who has been living here for a long time now and just wants a job.

Ha, wake up and smell the pizza, America...it's not just for white people anymore.

You are sadly mistaken about the Founding Fathers. Might I suggest you spend some time here:

http://www.archives.gov/national-archives-experience/charters/charters.html

If I start a company I should have the FREEDOM to hire whoever I want to, regardless of the reason. Working for me is not an equal right provided by the bill of rights or the constitution. If I want to fire a long time employee and replace him with someone else, then that is my RIGHT. It is not the right thing to do, but it is my right! Sadly, the rights of individuals are trampled on every day in this country under the veil of equal rights laws. On the flip side, it is the right of an employee to show up for work or not. Each employee has the right to quit if they desire. This is not a matter of race, creed, or religion.

I should have the right to operate my business as I see fit, and others have the right to not work for me or purchase my products. So should JetBlue.

We, as a nation, are a bunch of whining crybabies. Whenever something doesn't go our way, we run to the lawyers. Before you know it, some short & fat guy is going to sue the NBA because they were denied their equal right to play professional basketball. Where will it end?

Equal rights come with equal responsibility.
