No, This sounds gay:
" SAAAAY, How Could you wear those pants with that eye shadow?"

Black Balled!

Well, jetBlue has a reputation of black balling people. Perhaps someone he worked with at Independence who now works for jetBlue heard through the grapevine that he got hired then went to the people department and said he had a problem with this person working at jetBlue too.

OR there IS something sinister in his background.

OR, as I've heard before, after many, many months of waiting just to get phase 2, they decide 'no' to phase 1.

OR, maybe the applicant is not being truthful. What airline ever discloses the reason they don't hire someone? Hummmm......

This sounds more gay:

Its not "PC crap", it's what this whole country stands for. Opportunity for everyone, fair shot no matter what your beliefs/skin color etc etc. I'm all for protecting this country, but this blind ignorance bull$hit has got to stop. Just pathetic.

All you guys who are so quick call some one a "hater". Here's a question.

1. Would you feel comfortable if 20 of your pax were 18 - 30 year old Arab Muslim men on your aircraft?

2. Would you feel comfortable when 10 of them stood up at once and moved in unison toward the front of the aircraft?

3. Would you just sit there and say "I'm going to be fair and give them the benefit of the doubt"?

If you answered "no" to 1 & 2 then that must make you a hatefilled person. If you answered "yes" then you don't understand the nature of the threat.

I don't know this guys real story but he's probably just got sour grapes.

Of course I wouldn't be comfortable with that. If they were white, black, green, purple, it doesn't matter, yes I would not be comfortable with 10 people gathering at the cockpit door. But this is not the case. The guy is just trying to make a living, he's been in the cockpit for 6 years now. I don't know why you posted this little story, because I don't know anyone that would be comfortable in that situation. It has absolutely nothing to do with one Pakistani man who has been living here for a long time now and just wants a job.

This is America! If a company doesn't want to hire you because you have too many letters in your name, it is their RIGHT to do so. All of this PC crap has got to end, or it is going to take this great country right down the crapper. It is NOT the governments place to tell private companies and individuals how to conduct business... it is up to the businesses to decide & the marketplace to judge their decisions.
Ha, wake up and smell the pizza, America...it's not just for white people anymore.

You are sadly mistaken about the Founding Fathers. Might I suggest you spend some time here:

If I start a company I should have the FREEDOM to hire whoever I want to, regardless of the reason. Working for me is not an equal right provided by the bill of rights or the constitution. If I want to fire a long time employee and replace him with someone else, then that is my RIGHT. It is not the right thing to do, but it is my right! Sadly, the rights of individuals are trampled on every day in this country under the veil of equal rights laws. On the flip side, it is the right of an employee to show up for work or not. Each employee has the right to quit if they desire. This is not a matter of race, creed, or religion.

I should have the right to operate my business as I see fit, and others have the right to not work for me or purchase my products. So should JetBlue.

We, as a nation, are a bunch of whining crybabies. Whenever something doesn't go our way, we run to the lawyers. Before you know it, some short & fat guy is going to sue the NBA because they were denied their equal right to play professional basketball. Where will it end?

Equal rights come with equal responsibility.

Not sure how Baig behaved, but you are now including behavior....

RedBelly, thats racism. Plain and simple. Your talking about a throwback to the days of segregation. We have these laws so that everyone has a fair shot at living and succeeding in this country.

Yes, there are a lot of junk law suits, but in almost all cases, a lawyer is the only option we as citizens have when we are in need of legal help.

Faisal may have had a problem in training in the rj at ACA, Indy. So did a lot of people who now work at JB. This guy is a stand up guy who has been in this country for 33 years. I don't know all of the details but I think what JB did was wrong.

Alright change the sinario.

You walk up to the gate and notice 20 young Arab Muslim men waiting to board your flight?

I'd be very concerned. The fact is that not one white, black, hispanic or asian man hijacked the airplanes on 9-11.

If he thinks he is being singled out for his religion, maybe he needs to stop and look at who is causing the terrorism in the world. Not everyone of his faith is a terrorist. But the facts are the facts. Members of his religion are causing these problems and if JB was concerned then they did the right thing. Imagine if something happened after they hired him. We would all be saying why did they hire him? Members of his religion need to stand up and tell the ones causing the problems to stop. So far they haven't stood together to say stop, but that's for another thread.

WTF? He had a problem in training, and you do not know all the details, but what JB did was wrong? So, JB's hiring criteria should be:
1. Been in country at least 33 years.
2. Stand up guy.

Great post.

A good lawyer wouldn't be wearing no junk law suit.

What did JetBlue do? Rejected him. Happens all the time at Southwest Airlines..... most just take it like men. Where is his lawyer from? You have to prove damages if your after money?

Jetblue gets sued about 20 times a week according to our legal man in DC. This one just makes the news, unfortunately, I think he said we settle out of court with most of them while others get dismissed outright. We do operate out of Sue City, New York... Nothing new here... Furthermore, jetblue has a great track record on the people we hire and if this guy got the boot after the offer, it sounds to me like he was on the "no fly" list or something of that nature or someone in the company saw his name on the Phase II list and torpedoed him. We hired many FLY-I guys and gals after their disposition, all are very highly regarded as individuals, from the ones I've met...

YOU SUCH A JACKASS!!! Its clearly you don't know the this person, yet you flame him. I know this person personally and I can confidently say he is not a security risk, yet he would be a great asset to your company. Unfortunately, your remarks lets me know, Jetblue made the mistake of hiring gossip-jackass like you!

Furthermore, If Jetblue gets sue so many times, than maybe Jetblue needs to change there policies and rid the cockroaches who are in charge of employee services, starting with you!

You're still talking about stereotyping one man because of his skin color and his religious beliefs. I agree that the silence from moderate Islam is deafening, this guy shouldn't be pushed out of society because the extremists. If the guy isn't a true security threat, it's wrong, just plain wrong, theres no other way to spin it.

Equal rights for all? How about equal rights for people who happened to be born caucasian?! Affirmative action is simply discrimination approved by the government.

Who says the guy hired a good lawyer? What about Jackie from Seinfeld...there are lawyers like that out there. It sounds like the guy had training problems. Maybe he lied about failing a checkride. More likely, an ex-ACA guy at JB saw his name on the list and got him axed.

For those that do not know the process at JB, you interview in phase 1 and then if you pass, you go on to phase 2. Phase 2 is an agonizing background search. I do not know this guy, and I would hate to think he actually was discriminated against, but knowing the folks that are in charge of that program, I will stand behind their call. There are not a bunch of "managers" in that department so this is not like one of 20 "managers" stepped out of line. When the decision is made, the head of the department calls. The head of this department is probably the most pro active and "caring" person I have run into in administrative work. This was no "off the cuff" decision. This had to be painful for JB to make this decision.
Sounds to me like JB is full of themselves when making hiring decisions! Get over yourselves with the exhaustive background checks.....its just a freaking airplane that pays ********************e these days!

Correction, no cockroaches at Jet Blue. Why? Because the pilots maintain SPOTLESS cabins.

Muslims, may they burn in hell.

Harsh words for an entire group of people. Ever stop to think that not all of them are extremists? If every Muslim wanted to strap C4 to their chest and blow people up, why are there so many Muslims living in America? I agree that those who have killed innocent lives for something as stupid as religion should burn at the stake, but you sound like you'd be willing to toss every innocent Muslim man, woman, and child into the goulag because of what they believe in. Hitler was into that sort of thing, ya know.

scoreboard said:
In this case yes, absolutely. And you will too, very soon. Just as absolutely as those 20 or so hijackers gave their lives for their religion. Just like Hezbola pays off the families of those who strap on a backpack bomb and get on a bus in Haifa. Just as surredly as Iran is directing Hezbola actions.

Islam is not a religion of peace, it is an empowering fanatisism for the weak minded masses which empowers even weaker moraled leaders to direct attrocities. This fanatisism needs to be irradicated, sooner rather than later.

When is the last time you saw a catholic hijack a plane, a protestant kill a cruise line passenger, a jew strap on a bomb and get on a bus? You have not, you will not. Muslims, may they burn in hell.
Sounds like you have been watching way too much Fox News!

Come over to the ME and see BOTH sides of the carnage! Americans have no idea, as usual, what is happening in this world!

As long as the termination is with just cause..... Employers must operate within the law. In fact the law requires some companies to hire a certian percentage of minorites.

Your big word is freedom. With freedom comes responsibility. Didn't you watch Austin Powers?

Not sure where it says inthe constitution or Bill Of rights that it is an employers right to terminate without cuase? Maybe a state code. can you school me Mr. Right?

You have the right to run your business as long as it complies with federal, state and local laws. This is not a right but a legal and moral obligation.

Actually, I read your post as crybaby whining. I think the NBA has performance standards or competittivness. So if a fat guy came along and could compete, he might get a contract.

Yeah, they all have "we're the best" attitudes too! Funny thing is is that the jackasses are the likes of you who think you are so much superior to every other pilot out there! Thanks for proving my assumption!
