Easy to get hired. Much tougher to get through training. Omni has a high wash-out rate through training.

Omni just voted in the IBT747 for union representation.

Only 61% of the pilot group voted for representation, but that was enough.

Badass!!!!!! Congrats you guys! Now you have a little muscle to tell RC and CP to stick their multi-million $ salaries up their ass!!!!

Although Omni's washout rate is not high at all. Lately its guys that get sick of the BS before they even get on line.

I would venture to say that the high wash-out rate is due to the fact that Omni training is NOT easy. The type flying done here is not basic nor easy. The demands are high and they make sure they get only the best. It is perhaps some of the toughest training around. On the B757 you are required to get a type rating and they are not giving them away. The training is tough but fair. On th DC-10 they want very qualified pilots and on both equipment they do not tolerate hand holding to get you through. Now, if you get through you will learn more about avaiation then you ever knew existed. They fly world wide which means knowlege of ICAO rules and regs. Its everthying you ever wanted to know about flying and didn't know to ask.

Well lets hope I hear from them. They seem to be contacting everyone else. It would be nice to hear from them then get some time to start studying prior to class. I didn't really like it when CHQ hired me and started immediately.

I talked to Omni a couple of weeks ago. They told me that they already have the people for the November class and the December class was going to be for the 757 guys going to the DC10. No new hires in Dec. You can expect to get a call after the middle of November, if not, call them yourself and show interest in getting aboard.

Cheers.
