Please don't tell me you expected some kind of meaningful & sincere exchanges to follow your suspiciously concerned post. Thanks for thinking of Paul but your public confession of a BAD mouth taste a YEAR after the fact leaves me questioning your true & thinly veiled motive here. I know Paul doesn't appreciate it as if it even mattered to ya. Please go away.

You know I haven't talked to Paul in a while, but I support him whole heartedly and hope that he gets back in the cockpit again. And as far as the bad taste in my mouth, it was in the way he was treated. Paul is a good man. He has a great wife who has supported him. Imagine the stress that it caused in his family's life. Would you want that to happen to you or your best friend's families before anything was proven? He made the news before he was even taken to jail. It does matter to me. As far as the a YEAR after the fact comment, if you'll notice, I didn't even know about this site until day before yesterday. And yes I figured that in a site like this I could have intelligent conversations with my peers in the field. Or isn't that what this site is all about?

When you're new (if that were the case), it behooves you to observe for a little while before making some stand that you appear to know nothing about. If Paul were your friend, your attempt at productive conversation on this website is disrespectful at best. Go away.

P.S. Another thing, I have known Paul from his ASA days. And was glad to cross his path while flying for Air Tran. And as a woman in the field, I have had to overcome smart _ _ _ comments like that sandwich thing all of my career. And you know what? It just shows how mature you are. And I have met the wives of the guys who said things like that to me in the workplace and it was usually those mens wives who actually wore the pants in the family. Not intimidated by that comment. Feel sorry for you.

And you think that is funny? I am trying to seriously discuss the shortcomings of our profession. And just like a man, negate the issues and try to make a joke. I think we would all benefit from more women in our field. The scrutiny you feel is of your own making with attitudes like that.
Yeah, he a man. Probably a short one though!

However, that is funny... Capt Morgan

:puke:

Lady, you were the one who brought up your gender with your "and just like a man" comment. No-one else did.

If you want to pull out the disadvantaged female card, don't whine at us when we flick it right back at you.

I am not a disadvantage female. I earned my seat. No one gave it to me. And this isn't about me. It's about how one of our own was hung out to dry by the powers that be. Doesn't anyone else feel that he deserved a more private handling of the circumstances? Would you like for your wife to have to watch it on the evening news or have to explain it to all your friends even before you are allowed to post bond? He was charged with something there wasn't even a statute against. The charges were dropped because the law didn't even exist. Come on.

Wow, I guess it must be "that time of the month." Calm down, sweetheart. Turnabout is fair play. If you're going to make stupid comments like "just like a man," then I can toss it right back at you.

I'm still waiting for that sandwich!

Well, now that was creative. So I feel strongly about something and I am a woman, therefore, it must be that time of the month. Go back to the stone ages, it was okay back then to bash women. Bet your wife keeps you on a short leash. Does she know you are on the computer? Well, at least you aren't surfing porn sites.

Calm down, I'm just messing with you. Don't you think it's a little weird for you to be making a big deal out of the "caveman" comments when you just lumped all men into a stereotype with your "just like a man" comment? That's all I'm trying to point out for you.

Bet your wife keeps you on a short leash.
Not married. Maybe the "caveman" comments are why! :)

Well, at least you aren't surfing porn sites.
Hey, I can multi-task, baby!!!

Now hurry up! That sandwich ain't gonna make itself!

Hence the question of why you're contributing to it by digging up this year-old dirt with his full name for the thread title.

If he were your friend, this is not the way to make your feelings known.

You know defending a friend and how he was treated is one thing. But getting into a debate with you regarding sexist attitudes would be another thread now wouldn't it? I can handle attitudes in the workplace because I do my job and do it well. I don't have to debate this with you when it isn't the topic. Get your own dang sandwich. You'll starve if you are waiting for me.

I got my wings in the USAF, flew in 2 conflicts, didn't get my seat from anything that you suggest with your comment. I give, seems like you guys are operating off the same brain cell, would hate for you to strain it.

I just asked a question, and am not suggesting anything. :D I don't think you are getting it yet. Your whole dribble is proof that you truly are from Venus. You bring up a thread from a year ago and yap about how the publicity of the whole thing was wrong, yapping about being this guy's friend, spouting about the "attitude", implying that we all have it, getting the point across as early as you can that you are a woman, and leaving the impression that you are covering your keyboard in tears. Why? Shat happens lady. I am fully aware that alcoholism is a disease, but there is zero tolerance in this industry for a reason. If a guy pounds a few back all day and shows up to captain a redeye across the country while packing heat...well...I am not sure he needs to keep his certificate. Two questions here...(1) What are you trying to prove?, and (2) What type of response are you expecting from this crowd? BTW, your fricking self backpatting that surfaces every couple of posts is getting kind of sickening. I wonder if I know you. I interviewed at a major a few years ago with a female candidate, and after the interview we shared a cab to the airport. She made some of the same comments you are making...you know...the one's where you say you earned your seat. Then she asked me "what 's EPR?"

WTF??????? It seems that you are a victim of the same thing your friend was a victim of. Maybe after you sober up we can talk about it. Here are some things to consider:

1. YOUR FRIEND hung himself out to dry.

2. If YOUR FRIEND does not know that he is a public figure everytime he steps into that airport then he deserves to be fired.

3. Face it, the charges were dropped because nobody was hurt in the incidence.

4. I think there might be a law against drinking and flying, not sure but I think so. Maybe you should have learned that while "EARNING YOUR SEAT".

Anyway I would say quit while you are ahead. Flightinfo is not the forum for this. And by the way that beer is not going to get itself.

I stand corrected (my usual position) on the in-house union at AirTran. Sorry about that. I should get out more.

I brought up the HIMS, which might have been an option before Captain Morgan showed up for his trip. Maybe some of his very caring friends and cow-orkers should reflect on why they didn't try to steer him into it before he self-destructed.

JetGirl, lay off the grrrrl power, and act like a pilot. I'm guessing there are plenty of women pilots lurking and posting here and, they mostly blend right in ... 'cause, um, they act like pilots. How on earth did you get along in the AF anyway?

And you are probably causing your friend a great deal of personal and professional embarrassment. Just sayin'.

Don't have a dog in the fight, but I gotta call BS here. Something about the tone in your posts coupled with your profile. You made a comment on a previous posting that suggested you were ASA prior to your current position. So, active duty, followed by ASA, followed by Air Tran? Again, the whole thing doesn't quite add up. Two conflicts? certainly not Desert Storm and OIF with only 3000 hours. Maybe OEF and OIF? Do those really count as two conflicts?

At any rate, I'm calling you out. Prove me wrong and I'll happily apologize publicly. But I think you're full of it. You totally overreacted to normal criticism and pulled out the Gender card WAAAAY too quickly, something somebody with your purported background would be highly unlikely to do. My guess is you're a low-time pilot building hours flight instructing. Your day job is working as a FA and you are personally connected to the individual in question. You just registered today with a bunch of bogus profile entries. Civilian? 3000 hours and been flying for Air Tran for a year? MD80? For who? The lowest time MD80 FO I know has 10K hours.

Well, I've pretty much publicly called you a liar. Prove me wrong.

Hey sweetheart, my guess is the only wings you got in the Air Force was from those "winged tampons" you bought while on base.

Run along now, the amount of time you spent on this board, the laundry is piling up and folks are getting hungry.
