YOU may contribute up to 35% of your money to it, up to Fed max for your age (over 50y/o you can put more away).
6% (of your earnings) contribution from company, not tied to your contribution.
Money goes into acct in your name (defined contribution plan), no one can take it away from you.
Increase to 6.5% in 2009.
Increase to 7% in 2010.
Increase to 8% in 2011.
After one year of service you MUST contribute at least 3% of YOUR money to plan.
Co. contributions are vested over three years.
<1 yr = 0%
>1 yr = 33.3%
>2 yr = 66.6%
>3 yr = 100%
