Do you have to buy their shirts and pants or can you get them elsewhere? What color is the uniform, black or navy?

The NWA uniform is Navy. The NWA policy is that you must where uniform pieces from approved vendors, however I know some pilots that purchase knock-offs from JC-Penny. In my opinion you might save a few bucks, but you can always tell a guy that's wearing knock-off pants. Usually it's the same guy with the black reeboks, leather jacket and a blue-tooth hanging from his ear.

Double breasted black jacket, with hat as well. Ok, truthfully it's navy, hat optional.

Actually, it is Sharskin or Tropical, but I do agree with the first part of your comment. I just hope that we can negotiate hats optional

Thanks for all the great info, guys. 12 months to get off reserve is much more reasonable than what I expected, but I didn't think NWA had been hiring that long..???

Can any of you new guys tell about the number of days off?? Min days off on reserve?? Min as a line holder?? Do the more senior schedules get a large number of days off?

I'm coming from a regional where the VAST majority of the lines are 12-13 days off. The top 10-15% of the seniority list can get 14 days off (if the're lucky). Since we cannot drop trips and can RARELY triptrade, its important to me to go somewhere where I can get more days off.

Thank you all.

It is funny. You guys have a lot of the same stuff we do. Long call/ short call is a little different, but the buddy passes, etc are fairly in line.

My buddy is in the 1/14 class and he said everyone got what they wanted. He said there were three senior guys who wanted the panel and they got the panel. NWA is super short on SOs so there is no way they wont be staffing that position. I am in the 1/28 class and was told I can have the panel if I want it. Which I do, so for those of you in that class, you will dodge at least 1 bullet.

Someone else said there were no SO slots in the 14th class? Either way its great everyone got what they wanted. I wish you were in the Feb 11th class so you can soak up a SO slot then!!;)

I'm in the 28th class also. I'm really hoping to get DTW base because it's an extremely easy commute until my lease is up. After that, I will be moving to a base.

From what I've heard it's quite a variety when it comes to experience. Me...6500TT, 2300 121 jet PIC, 4 yr degree. Seems like several w/out too much PIC time are getting interviews. I also heard that for the first wave of interviewing you needed the degree, but that was second hand info.
