NWA Continues Recalls!

It just a matter of fact years ending in 8 are great years to find a job, years ending 3 are bad years, never give up a senority number after a year ending in 9. So the push to peak out in 08 will start around June of 2007. NWA and CAl will be hiring off the street by that time. Every time NWA or CAL hires it creates 5 jobs.

CAL's last bid recalled 322 pilots, a good portion of those were at Expressjet. There are currently 113 pilots left on furlough and the word is the bid for CAL around FEB1 2005 will recall the remaining 113. After that there are 112 pilots from the last flow through that had a class date but because of 9/11 never left Express. The will go over as well sometime in 2005. For now the last group of Express pilots are the preferential interview pilots who were given conditional letters of employment. Their status is in limbo for now while both MEC's try to decide how to approach CAL to ensure their right to flow to CAL.

Now 174 recalls for the quarter. What will January bring?

54 Recalls for January already sent out. Hearing from a reliable source this number will go up for January and recalls will continue each month at "high rates." On a side note, NWA just recalled 600 FAs. Also hearing about a very large expansion in international flying.

228 Recalls now over 4 consecutive months with more to come. HR has even said they expect to be taking apps by end of 05. This would be great for all.
