Under DAL's propasals, a 2003 hire, would be next to a 1989 hire at NWA, but thats fair because we have "old" dc-9's?
Another genious...
Hey genius, DAL didn't have any 2003 hires. Where are you getting your info?

If thats your logic, what about those gas guzzling, old 767's? or MD-80's? GMAFB. Dpn't get too cocky about Anderson. NWA is 30% small than DAL, yet has more cah and made more money last year, along with higher margins. You need us much more than we need you.
No, I don't think we will get together, unless there is SLI arbitration.
Gas guzzling 767s? The A330 is better? How about our 764s? Our 767-300ERs carry cargo and we fill them up with pax and make a mint going to Europe. Gas guzzling MD88s? They carry more pax and can pay off the fixed costs sooner than any DC9. The FMS also allows for more direct routings, saving gas, especially compared to your "I'm lost, I need a heading to Gopher" DC9s. UPS has parked all of their 747-100/200s, and they make a bunch more money than you do. Every established Pacific Rim cargo carrier is switching the 744s in for the 742s. If you do that, your 742s will go to the bonyard.

That's exactly what they're trying to do. Just because it hasn't been resolved in a week doesn't mean that it won't happen. Patience is a virtue. It's nice to see 2 ALPA carriers setting an example of fair merger policy. Geez.... ALPA is useless.
Yet, NWA still has more cash, better margins, less debt and better revenue and earning with all those old airplanes. HMMMMM???? Wonder why your current CEO liked the DC-9 so much when he was at NWA? Was he an idiot then and now he's the savior now that he's at DAL?
Comparing NWA to UPS. Good one.
Airlines park airplanes, buy airplanes at different cycles Einstein. How about when the 787's come, we fence those off from DAL pilots since you have no orders?
Thanks not correct at all . Do you believe everything you hear Einstein? You guys enjoyed a mass retirement recently and there is NO way that the NWA guys will give up the chance to do the same over the next 5-10 years.
Who's the real genius numbnuts?30% raise still gives us a 20% paycut from old rates. Would probably give it back and more when Anderson cries BK again. 14% DC, I get 18% NOW. RJ'S capped? again, for now. Delta guys lead in the industry in giving away scope. 75% in equity? What kind? Stock? Options? Ask the UAL guys how that worked out.

Hey Einstein.....Do you realize that over the next 15 years Delta will actually have more retirements than NWA?
Probably not, but don't let facts get in the way!

Like I want to wait 15 frickin years to get my seniority back.
but at least I would have a Uboat commander costume for Halloween.....

I guess you can use all of that "extra cash" to buy gas for your DC9s and 742s, and not get it for yourselves. Oh well.... That is pure "genious."
Remember, your CEO, LOVED the $ numbers of the DC-9. Change the record. BTW, you never gave me your employee number so I could check your movement on the DAL seniority list.
Bye Bye--General Lee
No pilot were hired at DAL from mid 01 until 07... Interesting spin...
General, just to tag on, it's not just the price of gas, it's the cycles. Many of the DC-9s are running out of cycles on the airframes. Occam posted on it a while back I believe.
Yup, most of them will time out by 2025.
Timeout at 104,000 cycles, average is 60,000 right now.
Sorry Tiger, already a Captain on that POS DC-9. Pretty sure I will be senior to you either way, which gives me just a wee but of satisfaction.[/quote]Did your old CEO love the $ on the DC9s before or after high gas? When was he at your airline again? How much was gas back then? Have you asked him the same question now? From what I had heard from our own honchos down here, the -9s were GONE. (MD90s to replace them infact). You know, the MD90s that are more fuel efficient, have an FMS so you don't bother ATC, and the ones that can carrier more pax to try to pay for the fuel?
And my seniority would have been above yours I bet, and if this thing doesn't go through I bet I will be a Captain before you. My 9 month seat hold on the 7ER is almost up.....(we are still expanding BTW, with more planes and new routes---means upgrades for us)

DAMN YOU JUST GOT OWNED!!!That equals how many more years of asking for headings?

Yeah, because having RNAV or not makes all the difference in this job...
Way to keep things professional, guys. Instead of finding middle ground and having productive discourse like the career aviators you claim to be, some of you are resorting to Regionals-board style "My airline is better/more profitable/bigger than yours" and "My jet is bigger/shiner than yours" nonsense.
Regardless if one things this deal would have been good or bad for you and your side, its really too bad the intarwebs couldn't keep stuff cordial...but then again I guess this is Flightinfo.
My Penis IS bigger than yours...and SHINER too...Yeah, because having RNAV or not makes all the difference in this job...
